Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaUnfortunately messaged about 4 times during the stay for towels/questions and didn’t get a response. Breakfast was very basic, maybe tomatoes or mushrooms to add.
Beautiful location 5 minute drive to town or 30 minute walk through the fields. Beautiful rooms. All as pictured. Staff were lovely on arrival and very informative.

CanadaPool was meant to be open during our stay but the opening was delayed by rain. We didn’t get to swim as planned.
Beautiful, serene location in a farm setting surrounded by olive groves with amazing views of Siena. Only a short 10-minute drive to Parcheggio San Francesco which costs €2/hour, from which there are escalators up to visit Siena. The entire property beautifully decorated, rose bushes in the gardens, multiple seating areas for guests to take their own meals or a drink or to relax; candy dishes and cookie jars on coffee tables were a thoughtful treat! Beautiful breakfast spread each day with pastries fruit meats and eggs. Two well-equipped kitchens where guests can prepare their own meals - with beautiful stone backsplashes and counters, and enough serving ware to host a meal for a large extended family. With all these amenities It would make for a great stay with children and grandparents, aunts and uncles, or for a group of friends. We met a couple planning to host their wedding here next year. We spent a day just relaxing by the pool and on the patio - it was a magical break from our busy itinerary and hectic lives. If only we had booked more time here! We must definitely return in the future.

AustraliaA little difficult to access Siena, it’s a solid uphill 25min walk, wi fi is really bad in rooms, great if you have a car otherwise location is difficult.
It offered a country feel and that’s exactly what we got.peaceful at night if that’s what you’re looking for you will find just that at Podre la Strega.

We had a wonderful four nights staying with Letizia. and her husband. The accommodation is an old Italian country house with a gorgeous view of Sienna. The room, house, hosts and breakfast were all superb and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Letizia also provided restaurant recommendations that were also fabulous and some of the best food we had in Tuscany.

United StatesEverything! This is a delightful place with a wonderful host, great facilities and great care. Breakfast was wonderful. The views were incredible! But what really made the stay so enjoyable was the host. Even the guests from all over the world were great. There are plenty of spaces to just hang out, have a meal, a bottle of wine. On arrivel the host made us plates of food and brought a bottle of wine to the patio. She did our laundry as well. A really wonderful experience. It has a wonderful infinity pool looking out to Siena. When we arrived by train, the taxi line was very long, so the host came in her car and picked us up. This is an awesome place.

United KingdomRooms can feel dark but are in keeping with the age of farmhouse. Taxis service in Siena okay but could work out expensive as a round-trip into Siena around 30 euros.
Podere la Strege is in a simply beautiful setting, with the most stunning views of Siena. Old world charm, with the most delightful hosts. Your away from the hustle and bustle of town. Sitting outside with other guests for breakfast is also lovely whilst eating home produced delights. If you have no car a 15mins walk down a lane takes you to a bustop which runs a bus every 15mins into the heart of the city. The lane is steep and could be challenging to some. There are facilities to prepare your own meals if needed and lots of places within the farmhouse and grounds to just chill and relax in this very peaceful place.

The property is far enough away to feel like an escape, but also close enough to explore neighbouring vineyards and Siena which is only 5 minutes away by car. If you are driving, which is recommended, there is also ample parking. The grounds have a magical energy around them. Letitia and husband are superb, attentive hosts who do all they can to ensure your stay is comfortable. The communal breakfast is decent, includes homemade items and is a good way to get to know other guests if you wish. Rooms are rustic and basic in style but fully functional with excellent quality bedding and good shower facilities. In this respect it is excellent value for money and recommended.

United KingdomWe couldn’t fault anything.
Friendly, welcoming staff, wonderful gardens and areas to sit in the shade (and indoors) to eat or drink. The view over to Siena from our room was stunning. Siena was a 40 minute walk into the centre - we like walking so it was lovely to walk through the olive groves and then up through the winding streets of the city. We loved the communal breakfast table where we got to speak to other guests - share travel stories and tips. We also made use of the well equipped kitchen to cook a few meals and prepare lunches. We hired a car to went out to Volterra and around one day and travelled East to Chianti hills another where we stopped in lots of beautiful villages and towns. We stayed for 6 nights and didn’t want to leave!

United KingdomThere seemed to be an issue at check-out with processing of payment, which I think is more an issue between booking.com, the bank, and the recipient. Other than the admin headache, it was a lovely stay and I would thoroughly recommend to couples seeking a quite space just outside of Siena.
Excellent view, breakfast, property, and pool. The owners were very kind, sweet, and friendly. It is a beautiful residence and offers a very calm environment for guests, with a superb infinity pool. Location is approximately a 5 minute drive from a large car park outside of Siena, which offers an escalator directly into the centre.
