Beautiful and comfortable property at the foot of Grohmannspitze!
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Superior Double Room with view on the Sassolungo
    • Stayed 2 nights

We visited towards the end of August and it was a tad warm in the rooms in the evenings (which don't have AC) the solution that was suggested by the front desk was to just leave the windows open, understandably we were trying to avoid having mosquitos or any other critters enter the room so while it wasn't ideal it is more or less the standard solution for this throughout our stay in Europe. The hotel itself is not in a city or village so you are quite a bit isolated from restaurants/bars aside from the ones in the hotel itself (which are great) we ended up driving into town most days which is a good 20+ minute drive in either direction to the closest village so just plan accordingly, but if you like to be away from the crowds, noise and lights of a city this is a pretty ideal spot with amazing views.

The location was remarkable for hiking and the views were insane. Breakfast was included and delicious with plenty of options for my entire family (even gluten restrictive diets). Our rooms were massive and everyone had an amazing view. There are several hiking trails connected directly to the property so you have options to explore immediately after walking outside, although there are lots of hikers that come to this area and park in the lot so just be prepared for a crowd.

The only problem has been rude foreign guests shouting in the wellness area and swimming pool.. nobody from the staff in that area of the hotel nor at the entrance of the wellness area to make sure people behave correctly. No clear rules of behaviour were stated at the entrance. A bit too warm temperature in the wellness area, while the swimming pool water was average temperature, not warm.

    Everything, great stay!l, amazing hotel!

Get up close and personal to the towering Sassolungo!
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Superior Double Room with view on the Sassolungo
    • Stayed 3 nights

The bed was not the most comfortable. The a la carte onsite restaurant was overpriced and offered a limited menu in our opinion. My biggest frustration is that the room category I booked said it came with a balcony (if available). I figured that meant that depending on what time of day you checked in you might get a balcony. When we checked in the front desk staff said that we hadn't requested a balcony room so the balcony rooms were already spoken for. I had booked my hotel room 10 months in advance and if this was their policy it would have been nice if the hotel had informed me that I could request a balcony - not the other way around. Our room did face the Sassolungo group and the big window did open all the way into the room so it felt like we could let the outdoors come into our room. The hotel becomes very busy with cars and motorcycles filling the parking lot onsite until about dinner time and then it becomes much quieter. One thing I didn't care for was they play music on outdoor loudspeakers from about 8:30am - 4:30 pm. I go to the mountains for peace and quiet - not American rock and roll from the 1980s!

If you want to be in the mountains and wake up and look at towering rock right outside your room - this is your hotel! The rooms are large and the bathroom and shower were very nice.

Excellent place right in heart of Dolomites. There is no village or night life around, so it is absolutely silent and quiet at night. At the same time it has very good restaurant for dinner of those who stay there. There are very nice walks right from the hotel, and many interesting hiking trails start within 15-20 minutes drive from the resort

High-end hotel and restaurant located in a beautiful mountain pas setting with stunning 360 views.
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Standard Double Room
    • Stayed 4 nights

Hotel guests were assigned one table for all meals and there was no option to sit at another table. Some tables had great views and others, like ours, were less than ideal.

Breakfast buffet was superb - offered a wide variety of choices. Dinner meals were outstanding. The nearby towns in the valley below were overwhelmed with tourists. It was so convenient to dine at the Passo Sella Dolomiti Mountain Resort versus having to wait in long lines for a meal in the local restaurants. Loved that the Passo Sella Dolomiti Mountain Resort was located just off a high mountain pass. While crowded with tourists during the day, they all departed by late afternoon and hotel guests had the area to themselves. Local buses have stops directly in front of the hotel - a nice transportation option if needed. Garage parking included with the room. Pool and sauna facilities were wonderful to use after a long day of hiking and sightseeing.

    Stunning location, bizarre rules

Some bizarre very un-Italian rules. Example. You are allocated a table in the dining room and it causes real angst if you sit elsewhere, even though there were many spare tables. Manager explained this as an attempt to ensure correct billing, but did not have an answer when we suggested they just ask for the room number as they do in the vast majority of hotels. Got the impression he was a bit of a control junky who was letting down what was otherwise a very good hotel.

Beautiful location, efficiently run, good food, underground parking, very clean.

We did not like or understand the sudden change in the restaurant policy. One day we were seated with in one area, and the next day were were told that we need to sit in another ( staff forgot to mention that it’s a completely separate restaurant with different prices and we ended up paying double for water and drinks- food we ordered still came from the restaurant we sat at on a previous day so prices were as expected) overall very confusing and it ended up being the only negative of our stay.

The view was fantastic. The spa facilities with the pool, saunas, steam room and lounge beds were very nice and so needed after a day of hiking.

very rude restaurant staff that didn't think we were guests at hotel and didn't apologize. Told manager who was professional and apologetic. Lifts weren't open yet but we were not told when I reserved. Annual Bike Day occurred during our stay which closed the road to and from hotel for 8+ hours. Didn't affect us too much but should have been told at reservation time, imho

huge room with incredible views (second floor corner room), amazing breakfast, indoor parking, hiking trails outside front door. Did I mention the views?

Amazing to be able to stay in Passo Sella overnight once all the hordes of tourists have left for the day and just enjoy the peacefulness and the amazing views. Spa facilities with hot and cold water features were much appreciated after a long day of hiking. Restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. Room was very spacious with a minimalist design. Best of all the staff - I left my watch in the pocket of my robe and didn't realize until the next day after we'd left. Carlotta at the front desk helped arrange for it to be picked up by Fedex and shipped home to me in Canada so I was very happy.
