Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaEverything was perfect!
A short but wonderful stay at Palazzo Pacini! Pietro was so warm and welcoming to us. They responded to our questions very quickly and provided us with a delicious buffet style breakfast that we were able to enjoy on the patio overlooking a Tuscan hillside. The room was very large and spacious, as was the bed and shower (both huge!). Everything was clean and well maintained. The hotel is located in the quaint little town of Colle Val d’Elsa which is only a 30 minutes from Siena and 1 hour from Florence. We would have been happy to stay longer!

United KingdomNothing we didn't like although, the ability to make a brew in ones room, would have been a simple treat.
The breakfast offered a good variety of choice, fresh and well presented. The lady who worked in the kitchen (for hot breakfasts and setting out/ clearing away), was happy and efficient. The location within the old city walls was excellent, although one could not park in the street, the free car parking was only 8 minutes away. Being in the town, proximity to restaurants and bars was first class. Not a busy place, so strolling through town one did not have to negotiate traffic. All staff including the owner, were delightful and helpful.

United KingdomWe are not very good with very hard mattresses. The big shower head did not work properly but the hand-held shower did.
If you want to stay in Colle di Val d'Elsa, this is a lovely hotel to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not elaborate but OK.

United KingdomThe room was huge and beautifully decorated, with a very comfortable bed too. We had everything on our doorstep and the views were incredible! The hosts at the palazzo were very kind and answered all my queries before arriving and during our stay. Recommending restaurants and wine tours etc. I let them know I was vegan and was kindly given a vegan croissant for breakfast. The village itself is so charming, full of good restaurants and shops. Would absolutely recommend a stay there.

EstoniaPalazzo Pacini was our favourite place to stay while in Tuscany. We arrived after 9pm because of flight delay. Owner called and was ready to wait us. He was very welcoming and kind, showed parking area (5min walk from the hotel, public and free) and gave a lift back to the hotel. Room was spacious and very clean. Loved the area around the hotel, had very good pizza across the street. Breakfast was delicious. Loved everything.

TurkeyThe bed in the room was not so comfy, that could be changed with a new and more comfy bed.
The hotel is located in the old part of Colle. From the main square, it takes 15 mins to reach there by walk, the hotel is kinda up to the hill so the walk can be challenging sometimes. Breakfast was outstanding. It offers various choices and served in a terrace with a view of Tuscan countryside.

United KingdomWhen I couldn’t find a ride from the local village bus stop to the hotel, the owner generously picked me up from the bus stop so I didn’t have to walk in the summer heat. He was so lovely and kind and it set such a good tone to my stay at this beautiful hotel. I was also given a room with a view to die for! I would stay here again for sure.

A beautiful Palazzo which provides a haven from the heat. The rooms are an oasis of calm and wonderfully cool without the noise and dry air caused by air conditioners. The bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a variety of juices, cereals, fruit and pastries and fluffy omelettes. All served on a terrace overlooking the weren’t garden and distant views. The welcome to the Palazzo is warm and inviting. It was our second time here and we will visit again when in that area of Italy.

AustraliaThe floor of our bathroom was persistently wet throughout our stay. When querying this with hotel staff they said the humidity settings were set wrong, but when corrected the issue remained. Other than this we had no other problems.
Located in a cute town. Breakfast was a great addition with a cooked option everyday. Rooms were nice and clean.

Lovely hotel in a very beautiful Tuscany town. Loved the rooms, beds and the service. The town turned out to me my favorite town in Tuscany, central, but yet quiet and not super touristic. Very charming, the breakfast was yummy. Great comfort and value.
