Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Qatarthis remains a blank space as everything was perfect.
Breakfast perfectly presented and served in a magnificent room. Same goes for the hotel restaurant that, with only five tables in an historical room overlooking Canal Grande, gave us one amazing experience in quality of food and service. Worth the trip!

Stunning old palace in front of the Grand Canal. Very old though very authentic room. Wonderful balcony and dining room, friendly staff. Not for those who understand luxury as perfection but for those who can apreciate the charm of an old palazzo

United StatesThe air conditioning was limited but understandable within the older building of Venice. The main room was comfortable for sleeping but the living spaces only had fans which helped but couldn't keep up with the hot humid days.
It was like stepping back in time from the moment you enter through a drawbridge entry when arriving by water taxi. This gorgeous 600 year Venice Palace was well maintained with a few modern amenities. Don't look for a lift here, the amazing porters help with your luggage up the many flights of stairs to your period inspired rooms with updated bathrooms and WiFi. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all my questions and even helped me find my way when I was lost in the confusing streets of Venice.

AustraliaMy first night wasn’t great, as the AC wasn’t working in my room (August in Venice is as hot as you have been warned it is!!). I was quickly upgraded the next day to a beautiful room with working AC. Great service from the reception team- thank you.
Incredible views of the Grand Canal (watch the sunset from the balcony of the hotel bar), and a real slice of history: you get a real sense of how the (wealthy!) Venetians lived here. The staff here are all super helpful.

CanadaIt could be hard to find as Venice is kind of a labyrinth. For the price, it didn't include breakfast, but there is option to buy separately if you want to have breakfast at the hotel.
I liked the size of the room and the view to the Grand Canal. The bed was comfy and the room was very very spacious.

United KingdomCommunication before after and during the booking was excellent very efficient and reassuring. They were able to accommodate our requests giving us the perfect room to suit our needs. Little Aaran is autistic loves to hug and can get very upset when things don’t go his way. The reception was especially patient accommodating and very kind in how they worked with us, never making us feel like an interruption but welcome guests. The breakfast parlour is a lovely experience with the high ceilings; we miss our macchiato in the morning! Not to mention the lovely scrambled eggs the recipe which I now have. The property is historical and much care has been taken to retain its heritage. Very quaint quirky and reminiscent of its pisani heritage. The little touches in the bedroom of various objects adds to the feel of being back in time. Well done to a staff and management to your dedication to presenting this piece of history ever so genuinely with delicate care and loving attention. We miss you all!

Beautiful old palazetto hotel right in the Grand canal, Venice. Third time we’ve stayed here. Great location near Accademia Bridge. San Stefano plaza with bars and restaurants close by and not too crowded. Spacious suite with coffee machine and minibar. The man on reception was particularly lovely and so helpful as was the barman in the beautiful bar overlooking the canal. The breakfast was well worth having and the breakfast staff ere also very obliging

United States- The room definitely doesn't look like the photos on booking. It looks a tier below that. - The bathroom smelt foul, like sewer. Even as soon as we checked in. I assume the pipes and sewage system are a complicated topic in Venice. - A bit of noise at night, from either the ventilation system, or just old things creaking, like furniture and walls/structure. I guess this happens in most hotels in Venice. - No door knob locks on the internal doors of the room or the bathroom.
- Staff is very kind - Location is decent, A bit far from Train Station but close to many points of interest. A bit far from the best rated restaurants though. - The room is enormous.
