Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThe big downside of the hotel is the location with regards to Caltagirone. We hoped it would be possible to get there with public transport but there are no options at all. Taxis cost 10eur per ride (one way) so might be an option if you’re with more people. We ended up always going by car which meant one person could not drink. We also had dinner twice in the part of the center close to the hotel, which was fine, but not as nice as Caltagirone:)
The pool was the highlight of our stay! It had a lot of chairs, was nice temperature and you get big towels from the hotel. Note that the pool is closed between 1-3pm (open 9am-1pm and 3-7pm. The breakfast was great, with lots of options, huge buffet with breads, cheeses, meats, fresh fruit, cakes, pancakes, yoghurts and many sweet options. The hotel itself is slightly outdated but still very clean. We slept on the 12th floor and had an amazing view over Etna, especially during sunrise! There are around 15-20 parking places at the hotel, we always got a spot but there’s a big parking space down the road from the hotel so parking should not be an issue.

United KingdomThe hotel itself is slightly faded, but the rooms were large and comfortable with a very good sized private terrace
Good value hotel with great breakfast, parking and a swimming pool. The hotel organised a taxi for us to the top of the steps in Old Caltagirone (cost €15 for the 6 of us)

United KingdomParking was limited (probably 10 cars max?) - half was 'roped off' for tourist bus use, meaning that most evenings it was full and we had to squeeze in down around the side of hotel. The hotel is not within safe, easy walking distance of the old town - no pavements and approx 2km up & down. Breakfast was adequate but if you wanted anything hot NH charged extra - EU6 for each fried egg for instance!! The pool was closed between 1pm and 3.30pm ?? (with the sun largely gone by 4pm) - so really only useful for sunbathing in the morning!
The panoramic view from our North facing room was exceptional - across the rolling hills and towards Caltagirone old town.

United StatesBeds a little uncomfortable for us but not a deal breaker. Didn't like being so far away from the city center but we should have paid better attention when booking.
Great view even if it meant we needed to take a shuttle to the old city. Room was big. Staff was very nice! We liked the pool was open for us and the bar was open. They were able to arrange a shuttle downtown and back which we loved.

United KingdomSadly this hotel is long past it's best, very tired, lack of maintenance and short on staff. The carpets were very worn, light bulbs not working and bar service very slow to painful levels. The WiFi was weak or non existant in much of the hotel apart from the main foyer area. The door to the balcony was sticky, and once open, tricky to shut. The breakfast buffet was the worst in my stay in Sicily... selection was poor, most of it cold with no way to keep things warm, and once it ran out, it ran out. They said they offered lunch but there was no information about it, menu's etc... and staff so short that I couldnt be bothered to hunt them down and drove to Lidl instead! The location is a half an hour walk to the town so didnt feel like it was actually in Caltagirone. There are a good number of seemingly wild dogs left outside the hotel that chase guests and bark a lot. So be careful. For the level of cost they charge and for what they offer, it doesnt balance. In all honesty, I think it was probably lovely in the past but I got a feeling that NH hotels has given up on this hotel and its on its way out... there was a strong feeling of this amongst other guests at the hotel.
It was very clean, welcome muffins were lovely, bed was comfortable and shower was good.

United KingdomAmazing location, only 20 minutes from the old historic town with local super markets; restaurants and other amenities even closer by. The room we had provided just the most perfect view of the old town and valley from our window. The Air Conditioning was up to date and work brilliantly. The staff always smile as you pass and we're always patient and happy to help my girlfriend and I who don't speak Italian. The pool is deep, cool, and perfect for relaxing beside.

United KingdomRoom was dated and dirty, swimming pool was not open even tho it's one of the key facilities listed and was actually a deciding factor on booking this property, 4euro per person per night in taxes is pretty crazy considering Ragusa is .75cents . Staff didn't care about any issues mentioned and were more focused on getting us to take breakfast. Far cheaper Airbnb in the area , like I said we only choose this for the swimming pool 🤣
