Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe noise on night 2, otherwise i wouldnt complain about anything. We knew what to expect and we received what we expected.
My wife and I stayed here for 2nights. We arrived at the train station just as it was getting dark. The hotel was easy to find, very close to the train station, turn right out of the station and walk in a straight line to the hotel, 5 mins. The hotel reception was staffed by a couple who welcomed us in and made us feel relaxed. We found our room up 2 flights of stairs, there is not a lift so pack light. The room was basic but as expected. We had a private bathroom, double bed, air conditioning and a tv. The hotel was quiet on the first night but there was more noise on the 2nd night, we couldnt identify where the noise came from but it sounded like someone moving home at 3am for about an hour. Breakfast was served in the small dining room. It was a continental breakfast, toast, juice cereal and cakes. The coffee was fresh and the host would make coffee of your choice, The same couple were there all the time so i believe they were the owners. They were very welcoming at all times and would go out of their way to make sure you were happy. The hotel is close to the tower, a 10 minute walk and we were there, good position for arriving late and walking to the attractions.

IrelandHotel was too close to the station for people who would be staying longer than one night. Trains passing regularly even during the night. But not a huge problem for 1 night passing through.
Hotel was 15min walk from the airport and had 24hour check in which was excellent for our delayed flight. Also a very short walk to the train station. Staff were friendly. Luggage storage was available free of charge if you wanted to explore pisa before your train journey.

Czech RepublicEnough for one night if you just need a place to stay. There is a lot of noise coming from the train station and the bathroom window looked into the courtyard which was full of pigeons and they were making noise. So, nothing to relaxation :).
Great location if you are flying to Pisa. The hotel is right next to the train station, a 5-minute walk away. At the reception, they recommended us an excellent restaurant.

United StatesThe location was on a busy street with very little parking, but that's pretty normal everywhere you go in touristy places. Rooms could use updating, but for the price it met our needs. The busy street made it somewhat noisy in our room during the night.
The room was basic, but provided everything we needed for a one-night stay. The bed was comfortable enough for a good night rest. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fair, but the morning staff the prepared our coffee was very friendly. It provided pastries, beverages, and cereal, like a continental breakfast. The location was close enough for us to walk to the main square to see the attractions in Pisa.

PortugalThe hotel has very thin walls, we could hear everything and throughout the night there was quite a bit of noise from people closing doors, and going up and down the stairs. The shared bathroom close to our room was quite small, and the shower was incredibly tiny, and it didn't properly close, so the entire floor was wet. There is some carelessness present, but nothing too shocking. We are not sure if the hotel has an elevator, as we always went up the stairs to the first floor.
The hotel is clean, and located right next to the train/bus station, which comes in handy! It's not very far from the main tourist spots either. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the room was quite big and the beds weren't the worst. There was a sink in the room, a mirror, and a hairdryer, which was very convenient. The room was clean and had a tv and A/C. The breakfast was very basic, but it had the essentials to get you started on your day: milk, coffee, orange juice, bread, croissants, butter/nutella and so on. Some fruit would be nice. The surrounding area has convenience stores and bakeries, as well as other services. The wifi wasn't the fastest but it worked.
