Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room was fine, but nothing extraordinary. The hotel charges $40 eu a day for the spa (nothing special) and we did not use it. The hotel should charge extra for spa services, but not to just be in the spa.
The hotel location in Sestri Levante is wonderful, on a beautiful quiet beach, that is actually called Bay of Silence. It is a little difficult to find and drive in to park our car, but the hotel had private parking ($35eu) and a valet to take and bring you your car. We didn't use our car while at the hotel for 4 days, we walked to the train for a day trip to cinque terra. The breakfasts were delicious, especially once we realized we could get eggs made to order. the rooms were comfortable. The restaurant is good but expensive, especially if you order half a langostino (160 Eu), but their pesto lasagnette is amazing! The hotel staff were all very nice and helpful!

United StatesThere was the Anderson festival which had live music that played late into the night. The music was lovely and we enjoyed it from our balcony. The second night's music was a little too much bass beat. Thank God we had ear plugs.
It was so idyllic. It was just a stone's throw from the fabled Ciqu Terras, but not as hectic or crowded. Walking was on level ground mostly, and the beauty was beyond belief.

United KingdomWe liked it all as it was so quiet. We don’t know if we would enjoy it as much in peak season as we like a quiet, calm stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Miramare and Spa. When searching for a , I had been attracted to the hotel by the photos of the Bay of Silence location of the hotel. It was even better in real life! A really beautiful and peaceful location as we were travelling during the non peak time of March. The bedroom we were allocated was lovely and spacious as we were upgraded on arrival to the Junior Suite with Seaview and balcony, room 210. The bed was SO comfortable and the room was very quiet. Sitting on the balcony at different times of the day was bliss! As we had requested a twin room, they made up the sofa bed into another bed for us, which was also very comfortable to sleep in. The suite was very clean and every little extra touch was provided. I loved the huge fluffy dressing gowns especially! The bathroom had a wonderful jacuzzi bath as well as a separate shower. I loved the range of toiletries provided, the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner smelt and felt lovely. The breakfast room overlooking the sea was beautiful, such a pleasure to eat our breakfast overlooking the calm bay. It had lots of choice. We chose the ham and cheese omelette on the first morning which was delicious, so much so that we ordered another one on the following day! The pastries were displayed in a pretty way, like they do for an afternoon tea in England on a stand on each table. We didn’t manage to eat at the restaurant as it wasn’t open when we were there but there was plenty of choice in the town of Sestri Levante itself. We thought that the old town of Sestri Levante was delightful. We found it a great base for taking the train to see the Cinque Terre which was the main objective of our trip and we are so glad that we chose to stay outside in such a lovely resort. It was an easy direct connection to the Cinque Terre stations.

NetherlandsThe payment for beach chairs is very annoying and expensive at 40 euros a day per person. In there defence you can sit above the beach and access it for no charge. There is limited space and i expect that is why they charge.
The beach at the accommodation is in a small bay which is private and much less busy than the main beach. The hotel itself had lovely dinning options on the beach at night with a great view. The rooms were also bigger than i expected and the facilities such as aircon worked well.

IsraelThe price of beach beds per day is an outrageous 40 euro.
We stayed at Miramare for three nights, celebrating my mother’s 90th birthday. The location of the hotel is outstanding, in a very picturesque bay of the Liguria coastline. the rooms were very spacious, actually more like small apartments. The rooftop rooms are modern large lofts. everything was comfortable and we slept very well, waking up to the sound of the waves. Breakfast was of excellent quality and variety and we enjoyed chatting with Angelo, one of the chief waiters. We had lunch at the “La baia del silenzio” restaurant located in the hotel and it was delicious. We had a lovely time at the spa- the management found a way to allow protected time for large groups with children, so not to disrupt the quiet for other guests. We purchased several types of treatments at the spa and the manager Cristina and the estheticians Martina, Paola and Julia were professional, skillful and kind. The hotel is located right on the beach and still in the middle of the town, so we had a large choice of dining options. I warmly recommend hotel Miramare- a rare gem of old-style hospitality with a modern touch.

HungaryWe stayed on the 4th floor which is basically part of the roof. Right next to our door the roof was full of seagulls and they were very noisy in the morning. I think it can be heard already on the 4th (top) floor so try to ask for a room on another level and you will see no problem. :)
Beautiful hotel, clean and very well equipped bathroom, comfortable bed. The staff was very nice. Everything went smoothly. The breakfast is great. The beach is 5 steps from the reception.
