Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

South AfricaWe could hear a bit of merrymaking from the streets late at night. However, we were well aware of where we were located so we actually did not dislike it. It is the heart of Rome after all. We also enjoyed being able to see the hustle and bustle from our room window.
The moment we walked in, there was eye contact and a smile from the first staff member who greeted us. It felt sincere and all the staff ensured that we were comfortable at all times. The location is excellent. The rooms and hotel are tastefully decorated.

It is a beautifully decorated, incredibly chic property with rich history, that’s is in an amazing location for site seeing and shopping. The rooms were spacious, impeccable and really well designed and finished. The food was exceptional! All meal servings were “chef’s kiss”. And the gym was actually impressive for a boutique property. The ultimate highlight is just hospitable, accommodating and helpful the staff were. From the door man, to the GM, everyone was a true pleasure to be deal with l.

The Breakfast that was included the customer service from the bartender, restaurant personnel both breakfast employees and dinner experience. This was a phenomenal hotel experience. Hotel Maalot is a total standout gem and my favorite hotel in Rome. Everything is impeccable, from the central location right by the Trevi fountain (which I love passing by and saying hello to every time I leave and return to the hotel!) to the gorgeous rooms with unparalleled design, and the outstanding hospitality where every team member truly goes above and beyond. Housekeeping was prompt, thoughtful, and seamless. Breakfast is a beautiful and attentive affair - and the F&B manager is so delightful and clearly has such passion for her work! It was a joy meeting every member of this incredible place, which feels more like a 2nd home to me than a "hotel". I love interior decor and design and so fully appreciate their decor which is beautiful and tasteful - modern with a nod to classic Italian styles. But what is truly unbeatable is the people - the entire team is so wonderful and helpful. I truly felt so taken care of and had an incredible seamless experience. I have been to Rome 5 times, and this was my 2nd stay at Maalot because they left such an impression the 1st time - and after this 2nd amazing return stay, they have sealed the deal and I will not be going anywhere else. They also wow'd my partner who I was so excited to introduce to the Maalot this time. I travel globally often and this is a very unique place. Of all the places we stayed all over Italy, this was #1. Special shout out and big thanks to Jonida the manager for taking extra good care of me - including an unexpected knockout deluxe room set aside for me, and snagging coveted sold out tickets to the Borghese Gallery! I can't wait to return again.
