Very comfortable place to stay. We could only stay one night but it was ideal for us. The bed was large and comfortable. There was a good selection of Breakfast things. Luca was the perfect host, very accommodating and offered great advice on where to go in the beautiful city of Lucca. Communication was excellent throughout. Many thanks.

The property is easily accessible from the autostrada and a just a short walk from the city walls. We loved our room with its tasteful decoration and original shutters - lovely! It was cool and comfortable, and had an en-suite shower room with complimentary toiletries. Luca was very welcoming and gave useful information about how to access the main points to visit on our short stay. Unfortunately, we couldn't do justice to the amazing array of breakfast options, but we enjoyed eating in the garden surrounded by all the beautiful plants, flowers and the perfume of the jasmine! There were so many little but thoughtful additional touches that added to the ambience and to the pleasure of our stay. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was pleasing and scheduled in time slots, which is a great idea to avoid overcrowding in what is a more peaceful and intimate breakfast room. Easy enough walk to the walled city of Lucca. Good size comfortable room in a well maintained and beautiful gated house. Enclosed parking in the courtyard is a major plus. Luca was gracious and we are grateful for his personal dining recommendation in Lucca.

I honestly can't think of anything. We have stayed at many Italian B&Bs in the past 20 years and San Donata is the best by a very long way.

Breakfast was outstanding, served personally by Luca and brought to us in the beautiful jasmine scented garden. The villa was ideally located being a 5 minute walk to the main entrance of Lucca's famous walled old city with the tourist information point immediately inside.

Nothing at all to be honest. There was nothing negative, from on site parking, excellent facilities and d service as well as great value for money, nothing to fault.

Exceptionally charming property with very high level of attention to detail and attentive service delivered to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable stay. I really enjoyed this place and its staff and would highly recommend.

A beautiful villa just outside the walls of Lucca. Traditional and exquisitely maintained. Easy parking and room to sit in the garden on a hot day. The service from the owner was exceptional.

Luca is an incredible and generous host. He kindly picked us up from the train station pointing out all the local sights, and insisted on dropping us back the following afternoon which we were very grateful for. Lovely B&B well located only a 4 minute walk from the city walls. Clean and spacious room, breakfast tasty and served by Luca himself. We particularly enjoyed the balcony and garden area when the sun came out.

The accommodation was excellent, in a beautiful house and only five minutes walk from the city walls. I loved the garden where breakfast is served in good weather.Luca was an excellent host and provided a map and information about the city. Parking is secure within the property.
