Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIf you can find it good luck. The area around is dirty and footpaths can be dangerous if you don't watch your step. Cigarette leftovers are everywhere.
Location is great and just across the beach. Short walk to small businesses. Loved sea view from my room 303.

United KingdomI booked a room with a double-door-type view of the sea, hoping to work with a nice view, but was put in a room with a window where I had to stand up to see out of it (so worked with a view of the wall).
The staff are nice. The hotel is in a good location, where you can sea and hear the sea, which is walking distance from good food from Pizza in Piazza and Zaza Kebab, good coffee at l'Angolo del Caffe, nice beer at Beerocracy and a quieter, greener option for caffeine/alcohol at Kimos.

Very nice staff, they helped us with everything. You can leave your baggage in the baggage room after check out. Everything was clean. Big kitchen in the ground floor, where is coffee machine. Simple, but clean. We stayed only one night and were satisfied. Close to the city center.

United KingdomShowers and bathroom was decent. Good customer service
Decent priced. You get what you pay for. Shower and bathroom where clean and shower temperature was good. It's an old building and probably listed as a historical building hence building work must be approached with care. Needs some investment with prices kept the same. Has great potential

SpainHidden fees upon arrival that have to be paid in cash. Extra pay for towel + make the bed yourself, for an hostel this expensive it was surprising. Also too many people in one room with only 1 key to share, which resulted in keeping that one key on the door at all times. So no safety since lockers inside the room also have no locks or possibly to add lock.
Bed and pillow were comfortable.

DenmarkAn interesting bullying. German soldiers stayed in the buildings from 1943 to 1950. Later it was used for poor Italien families. It looks alike a huge hostel in Spain. One l have stayed on. Where that luxury doesn't count. It would cost one year of Romes budget to fix it. And make a five star hotel. It is huge. Italys people is poor. Nice people. I am poor too. But not that poor. Pizza. Italian food is good when it has not been cooked by Italiens. But they are a lot more healthy. We ad more cheese, oil, meat etc. Italy. I have been to Italy many times. 20 times. So it can't be that bad? But the hostel. 7 is to low. 8 is too much. But the staff was friendly. An experience. I liked the experience.

ItalyIt's overpriced. I payed 27.5 Euro per night (tax included) for a place that wasn't worth more than 18 in low season (I was there in November). About the price, notice that it's better to book last minute because the price will plummet and there are very few customers out of season. In fact, what you get is just the bed and nothing else - no towels, no free coffee or tea, no proper cafe - nothing. In addition, Ostia is virtually dead in the winter and the area around isn't exactly a heaven. Right behind the hostel but in the same complex (that is the entrance from via Paolo Toscanelli) is a bidonville full of sinister figures - one of them, the sentinel near the door, made me understand I wasn't welcome so I immediately took the exit. Always get in from via Cozza. Apropos, NEVER leave the car nearby: several people have had their belongings stolen. There are druggies are all around. Make sure you arrange your parking with the personnel, particularly the experienced ones working at the reception in the morning.
The place is quite pleasant, and overall it makes you feel you're going back in time. Many years ago, in fact, that was a colony for children whose families could not afford some sea holidays. The beds are comfortable and the toilets are clean. It's at walking distance from the main station and there are plenty of places where you can buy good food nearby. Finally, it is perfectly located if you're landing or departing from Fiumicino airport. There's a direct bus which costs just 1.30 EUR or something. The seafront isn't memorable, I'm afraid, but it's better than nothing. You can (moderately) enjoy a walk towards the porticciolo, that is the harbour - don't go to the Borghetto dei Pescatori, instead, since there's nothing to see and do.
