Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenYou just have to like the retro style, and be aware that there is no pool
A glorious retro hotel, where nothing has changed since the 60s. Like stepping into a Bond film set. Right on the beach, which is never very crowded. Amazing sea views.

United KingdomUnfortunately the food is quite basic and completely unlike the other amazing Italian food we had elsewhere on our trip. Apart from that there is nothing else we could think of.
The hotel was lovely and traditional in decor and the fact it has its own private beach is a big bonus. The staff are also helpful and accommodating. The view from the balcony was also a massive plus point and it was wonderful to wake up to the sight of the sea every morning from the balcony. Taormina is also only a short journey away, a 15 min walk to a cable car that takes you up to the town.

CanadaOn the ground floor there’s a terrace with a seating area overlooking the sea. In the morning these trees carry small tiny flies, constantly landing on your arms and meal, you do have the option to eat inside, but for the time it takes to have your breakfast view is stunning. Beach area must bring water shoes, sand is all tiny pebbles and the water is full of rock. The sun beats in the morning and by 4pm the sun chairs and umbrellas are in the shade as the sun turns to the front of the hotel casting a shadow. Distance to cable car was 15 minute walk. Bathroom very small, no washcloth , seems like Europe in general no longer provides , bring from home or use the one provided for the bidet.
Economical, stayed 3 days, location had free parking, was outdated, rooms do not have USB ports to charge phones, suggest to bring a universal adapter with multiple splitters to accommodate charging devices. Beds where hard, for those who prefer a hard mattress, facilities where always clean and beach access was right on property.

United StatesCould use a small fitness room. Would prefer an omelet station for breakfast.
Gorgeous view. Comfortable room. We liked it so much we extended our stay. Old style luxury for reasonable price. Parking! 15 minutes walk to funicular to old Taormina. Restaurant is good and plenty of fine places to eat nearby.

United KingdomOur room was not very well aerated and had an old smell when we got in. The hairdryer was useless and got very hot to use, so gave up.
Historic property with a feeling of past times. The room was on the small side, but the bed was good size and had crisp linen. Good offering for breakfast with a gorgeous view. Pleasant staff.

Indonesiawould have been great to have some modern conveniences - like power points in usable places. Two side lamps beside the beds, too much furniture ( 3 old wooden chairs) a kettle and cups, not plastic cups, no complimentary water. taxis are expensive do a shuttle bus service to the vehicular or even a complimentary shuttle to Taormina So much space , they could have had a pool table or a play area for kids, a nice bar area for evening drinks, they could have had activities for guests to mingle , event nights, cocktail hours. The property was under used.
The location on the ocean was sublime. Sleeping to the waves lapping and great yo be away from the crowds, but then you had to travel up to Taormina every day. it was a trade off. The hotel itself is like Faulty Towers - it’s so antiquated , stuck in the 60’s but it somehow works. The rooms are spacious, all with amazing views. No modern conveniences but there’s everything you need. The waiters even wear faded white tuxedoes for dinner ! The terrace under the ancient fig tree was so beautiful , the dappled light and the gentle breeze while having breakfast was so relaxing and peaceful.
