When arrived the greeting was awful. I was made to feel as I had put them out like it was a massive effort to check me in as if I shouldn’t be there Most of the reception staff were very aloof all they need to do is have a smile and say hello It’s not hard. Although when checking out they presented us with a calendar and a tea towel. Building is very old and could do with a bit of attention. The floor squeaks badly when walking in room. I was concerned for those below us. All I can say is smile 😃

Fantastic location. Just stunning. Wait staff in the restaurant were outstanding. Close to several good hikes. Meals they offer were good and breakfast was good also.

Nothing. But we understand that the lake can be very busy in summer. We visited in May, with some remnants of snow on higher ground and a smaller number of visitors. Perfect timing.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful landscape, with views of stunning mountains and the emerald lake. The views change by the minute, as clouds roll past the mountains. The hotel itself is a lovely building, with wonderful staff who provide a great welcome. The food was excellent, with a great choice, beautifully prepared and served.

They could have had more amenities like bikes, or a fitness center...or possibly even board games. It was quite rainy while we were there, and there wasn't much to do without the outdoors as an option.

It is a dog friendly hotel, but dogs were not allowed in the breakfast or dinner areas, which made it tough to eat. Since the restaurant at the hotel was the only place to have dinner in the area, we asked to eat in our room and the staff allowed us to bring dinner to our room.

Due to the location of the hotel, dinner options were very limited, unless you are willing to drive at night, therefore had to dine in the hotel. Not a big selection of options to choose from but taste was good.

Location of the hotel is perfect, right on the lake. Our room was facing the frozen lake and the view of it was amazing. Breakfast was good with selection of sweet and savory options.

However, due to the mountain location, it was hard to get signals. I didn't get any signal at all from my room, so whenever I needed to call, it was impossible to make it.

It's located next to Lake Braies, so you can see the stunning view from your room all the time. There are buses regularly every hour, so travelling alone without a car is easily accessible.

It's charming! The old hotel with it's authentical history and interior, great breakfasts and dinners, piano concerts in the hall and outstanding view to the lake and mountains! It's something that I even didn't expected! Masterpiece )

All was perfect

The location is perfect with stunning views over the lake and mountains. The hotel interior is charming reflecting the history of the place. We had dinner at the property and it was delicious, not to mention the impeccable service. I would definitely go back.

The hotel has an old structure, so the floors are very noisy and the acoustic doesn't help as well, you can listen to guests above moving all around and speaking. The hotel should consider adding the option of serving lunch, separated dishes or putting a fridge in the room considering it's an isolated area and the touristic restaurants nearby don't serve good meals. As mentioned before, vegans and vegetarians should be taken into consideration in the options of first and second dishes, we don't eat only salad and soups, I expected more creativity considering it was offered by the receptionist as "there is a vegetarian menu" and in comparison to what was offered to guests who eat meat that was a bit disappointing.

The hotel's view is extraordinary as said by the guests previously even if the lake was frozen during autumn it really worths the visitation to rest and have a good time. The breakfast is very well served and there are also options for vegans/vegetarians which is great, only the dinner options could be improved in this matter. Also, the employees at reception, bar and restaurant are very helpful and gentle. The Brazilian pasticceria chef Lua is extraordinary, her desserts are the best I've tasted so far. I stayed in a room with a bathtub in the bathroom and that was very nice for relaxing.

There was nothing that we did not like, the beds were a bit too firm for us, but not at all anything that would prevent us from returning again in the future.

It is not often that a destination is as beautiful and serene as the online presentation shows it to be, but this one exceeded our expectations, it was everything we hoped it would be. The view from the balcony of our room was amazing, and the meals were superb!

... the breakfast buffet was rather disappointing. I would expect for a hotel of this level at least some salmon, more than one type of slices of cheese, especially because there was a choice of cheeses at dinner. Some warm mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, ... would have been nice. Sweet stuff was very present, up to macarons... They can offer the variety I expect because there are really enough customers.

The location and the view of the hotel is amazing. Unfortunately the food service was not good. The dinner is made of 3 choices, but they try to make the Menu so culinary advanced, that you can only guess type of food you might be getting. But the food is not good. I had 3 dinners included in my stay, but 2 were uneatable and 3rd I never got. After I waited 40 minutes for the dinner the waiter told me I didnt order anything, only my husband ordered :-) They are failing greatly with services, but due to good location of the hotel the hotel still functions. They should cook simpler foods they can understand how to make, rather than to try to be posh and fail. All waiters are older and looks like waiting to retire so they are exhausted from clients and you as client can feel it they dont want to be there. PS : They dont have menu in English and waiters can not speak English so I recommend you eat a lot of buffet salads which are actually nice.
