Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe liked the beautiful setting in the tuscan countryside, the magnificent views, the cool and comfortable room, the swimming pool and breakfast. The only slight negative was the unpaved and tortuous road leading to la Rimbecca. But then Greve in Chianti has many roads like this!

MoldovaThe place is set in the hills of Tuscany and is beautiful. The hosts really take pride in their work. The wines offered are very local and well selected. The breakfast changes a little each day and is delicious.

United KingdomNothing comes to mind, it was wonderful
We enjoyed three nights at La Rimbecca, it was so enjoyable that we could easily have stayed longer if our holiday time permitted. We started our tour of Tuscany in Florence, following a stay near Sienna we travelled to Chianti in Greve, , stopping off at Montepulciano and Pienza on our way there. La Rimbecca was ideally situated for an easy drive to some beautiful landmarks in the region, including Badia a Passignago, Colle di Val d’Elsa and San Gimignano. We did not use the car on one day, walking instead along a beautiful forest trail to Montefioralle where we had a lovely lunch. We were made very welcome by our hosts at La Rimbecca and had a lovely room, which had a large fridge and kettle. Breakfast was served each morning in a small dining area or outside by the pool depending on weather. Homemade cakes, cheese, meats, pastries and much more made up a wholesome breakfast to start the day. There is no restaurant at La Rimbecca but our hosts provided a list of recommended restaurants in the area and a local pizza delivery. They also offered homemade and locally sourced cheese and meat platters, which were served with accompaniments; we took this option on two of our evenings and were overwhelmed with the amount of food offered, it was wonderful. A local shuttle run is also available to those who wish to eat at local restaurants and do not wish to drive. We read a review about the unmade road leading to La Rimbecca which caused slight concern prior to our stay, however it was not a problem whatsoever when taken at a reasonably slow speed and following the advice of the hosts at La Rimbecca who sent plenty of instructions on driving there. One thing not to miss is the amazing honey produced there, we could not resist bringing a jar home with us and with each mouthful I think of our wonderful stay at La Rimbecca.

AustraliaAmazing, value for money country stay in the heart of Chianti. Wonderful hosts provided a superb room, delicious varied breakfast, and salumi and wine was available in the evening. Comfortable room, fast WiFi throughout the property, mineral swimming pool, relaxing sun loungers. What more would you want for a relaxing stay. A short drive to Greve and other small villages in Chianti but for intrepid hikers, there is a 20 min steep walk to town.

QatarI understand the circumstances of the road conditions and the limitations of improving said conditions but all that does not make it easier to access the villa. A 4WD is highly recommend although not required. Another thing me and the family struggled with a little was the wifi signal strength in the rooms. Yes, it's because of the thick brick walls, I know.
Loved the hospitality and kindness of the owners, what an experience! - thank you! The breakfasts were fantastic and the location is amazing if one is after some peace and quiet.

United KingdomThis is a real gem. You access the property through a 2km stone track and what greets you is a fantastic historic building with 21st century facilities with the Tuscan countryside as a backdrop with only the wildlife as a soundtrack. Rooms are comfortable and clean, breakfast is excellent with a good variety and our hosts were both welcoming and helpful (thank you). Everything you want for a relaxing stay. We will definitely be back

AustraliaThe location was further from the town than expected, the road to get to Greve is quite rocky and steep so keep that in mind, we had a rental and it was a low car and we had to go super slow.
Breakfast was amazing. The view and surrounds were idyllic. The pool was beautiful and we stayed in a private chalet which was lovely

AustriaA few bees - but Valentina makes her own honey
Davide and Valentina have created a paradise - all alone on a hill in Tuscany. They have been great hosts, taking care of all their guests' needs (restaurant reservations, wine tours, etc). The breakfast was really very good and had special Tuscan dishes every day. The pool was in an idyllic location and was also really fun for our two children (5 + 9 years). Please keep up the good work - we will definitely be back as it was one of our highlights on our Italy tour. SwitzerlandThe hosts (a couple with two children) are very friendly, accommodating and helpful. They have already booked us a super restaurant in advance of our arrival, since we arrived later. The breakfast was excellent, there were always freshly baked cakes, homemade jams, honey, various salads and delicious cheese and meat. The hotel is cozy and the view is stunning. We would go again and can only recommend the accommodation. The road to the hotel is a bit rough and bumpy, but it is good to drive by car (we have a Skoda Octavia RS). With a car that is very lowered, it could become difficult.

AustraliaWe absolutely loved our stay at La Rimbecca! We spent two nights there but wished it was longer. It's very peaceful with amazing views of the surrounding area. Our room was beautifully renovated, and felt like we were staying in a much more expensive place. We found the property very easily using google maps, it's also very well signed. And we enjoyed the experience of driving in on a roman road! Can't wait for our next stay here.

United StatesThe drive is a doozy. Once you do it, it becomes a non-issue. But if you do it at night make sure they drop a pin for you and you don’t just rely on google maps/car gps.
Beautiful property. Remote, peaceful location. Valentina, the innkeeper, is a workhorse. The breakfast is over the top. Valentina recommended a cooking class with Elena that was an A+ experience at a nearby farm. Take our advice- do it! The olive trees and plantings are beautiful. The two boys that live on the property are a joy for the brief time we interacted with them. They have a farm feel with egg laying hens and pollinating bees.

United StatesThe first time you get on the ancient Roman road (2km) to reach the property is a little bit exciting/stressful, but there are not bad surprises on the road, just ups and downs :) and David will answer the phone for any question about direction... and then the prize: once arrived, a piece of green heaven.
the location was fantastic ( even if a little hard to reach but there was some thrill about driving on an old Roman road...) Valentina and her husband David were the kindest hosts. We arrived a little late but Valentina made sure we had a very nice dinner. During our stay they would always make sure we had our questions answered and always with a smile. Delicious breakfast with delicious tarts and jams made by Valentina, the honey and eggs from their farm...and of course for later in the day, their own olive oil and wine...And last but not least, a beautiful swimming pool with view on the Chianti landscapes Thank you so much. Un endroit magnifique, des hotes formidables et des produits de leur ferme delicieux!
