There is no food at the Locanda. The Locanda is situated right in the middle of the town, right off one of the main squares. So easy to walk to everything!! Silvia is an amazing hostess!!

Historic building, lovely room, central location. La Locanda is a historic property just off the the main street in the centre of the village, but with easy access to secure paid parking just outside the town gates. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed with period furniture. Communications were excellent and our host was very helpful. Recommended.

Extremely friendly and helpful welcome through the owner, great rooms in all aspects. It's obviously a historic building, and the owners have done an excellent job in letting their guests enjoy that vibe under the most comfortable circumstances.

Everything was perfect. So clean, comfortable and quiet. Sylvia was wonderful. She gave us so much information and advice, we wouldn't have had the same experience without her. Nothing too much trouble. Family bar in town looked after our suitcases until time to leave.

We loved the location which was close to the main street, but away from any crowds or noise. We were met at the hotel and given information and supplied with cups and even offered a kettle, as there wasn't one in the room. The room itself was large and comfortable with a sofa in the room, but also a nice lounge area just outside our room.

The property is an original home in the old town and absolutely beautiful. My attractive room had a lovely view and the best evening breezes. I could see the Tuscan hillside and tops of buildings in San Gimingnano. Sylvia couldn’t have been more helpful! She is terrific at making us feel comfortable and well acclimated to San Gimingnano.

It was cold and we would have loved a hot tea /kettle in the room or in the communal area. We had some confusion about heating too, but the staff came to help us quickly. We appreciate them.

STAFF /OWNERS are the best! So kind, caring, helpful, thoughtful, attentive. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. They are simply wonderful! Recommend staying here. Room is clean and comfortable. LOCATION is incredible!

The only thing missing is a kitchenette/ fridge or coffee making area. But you are so close to every caffe it isn't really a problem.

Great location, very central. Comfortable and big room with an ensuite. Heating was also good for November. Staff not on site but got back to us quickly over booking.com messanger. Such a sweet town too!

We planned to arrive via public transportation (train and bus) and had a bit of trouble with the buses there and going back, which was stressful. Calling a taxi or hiring private transportation was not so easy so we had to rely on the buses. However, the bus worked out in the end, and we are so thankful it did because San Gimignano is AMAZING. Staying here overnight was very cool.

Liked the location, just being a couple streets/turns from the main entrance. Really appreciated the staff answering our questions and being helpful. The room was beautiful and had plenty of space for our luggage. Excellent restaurant nextdoor, and the owners also have a restaurant close by. The whole town/castle was very clean and well-kept. There were tons of shops with specialty items like olive oil, leather bags, wine, pasta, etc. (wish we would have had more time for shopping and exploring) Plenty of wine bars and restaurants to choose from. One of the coolest towns I've ever visited.

We were helped with advice on parking (lot 2 is perfect) and how to use the app to see available parking spots. The location is perfect. We also were helped with great recommendations of where to eat. Staying overnight gives you a different perspective on the town when the crowds have gone away. It is a beautiful town day or night.

Met by the host as soon as we arrived at the property. Host provided all necessary information in regard to the walled city of San Gimignano. Great location and very nice quiet room.

There was nothing not to like.

Central location & car park is a good 10/15 minute walk away. A fabulous spacious room & bathroom, very comfortable & clean. Extra pillows provided & iron/ironing board is available upon request. The lady who checked us in was so helpful & welcoming. Quiet through the night & no sounds heard from the street until around 8am.

The location is great. Very close to the bus station and to the piazza del duomo. The way there is mostly flat (which is not a minor detail in San Gimigniano). The room is huge and beautifully decorated. I felt like a princess while I was there. I wish I had stayed more than just one night. Luggage storage options are very convenient.
