The property is well situated for Catania region visits. As base for other activities or just to stay and enjoy the wonderful garden and pool area, Fattoria dei Nonni is a great host. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, great breakfast and the dinner is delicious.

The hotel is a couple of km outside of Paterno, and public transport is not reliable A car is preferred. Taxis are expensive from Catania airport, so it’s advisable to book in advance But Francesca kindly drove us to Paterno from the hotel. Paterno is a quaint town with the castello Normanno sitting atop of the town overlooking the plains of Catania…

Francesco, his wife and staff were excellent. Making sure we were comfortable and fed. The hotel was very “tranquilo” with a pleasant ambience

The location was quite remote, but for us it was perfect! I would totally skip a place in Catania for this lovely fattoria :)

We loved everything! Francesco and Angela were the perfect hosts and made us smile on so many occasions with lovely and thoughtful little surprises. The food was amazing (If you’re a vegan, don’t worry), the pool was very large with a beautiful view of Etna and the room was recently renovated and nicely decorated. Francesco gave us some great information and tips about our next stop on the northern coast of Sicily.

There isn’t anything to dislike, it feels like an oasis, especially after two chaotic days in Palermo.

La Fattoria Dei Nonni is a beautiful rustic gem in the foothills of Mount Etna, it's really peaceful, has amazing views in every direction, the pool oasis is perfect for relaxing all day long, the food was absolutely delicious and the owners and staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating!

Nothing I can think of!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at La Fattoria dei Nonni. Angela and Francesca have created a beautiful place of peace and relaxation and are incredible hosts. We loved the delicious, generous breakfasts and evening meals, swimming and relaxing by the pool and admiring the stunning views of Etna. It is a good location for visits to Taormina, the beach and up to Etna.

Having our flight cancelled again so we could stay longer!

We stayed here because we needed a hotel after our flight was cancelled at Catania airport. Francisco was truly amazing, he couldn't do enough for us, greeting us at the gate, drinks, ice creams, fruit all brought by him during astoundingly hot weather. He and Angela made the most incredible meal for us on our first night with some of the best Sicilian food I have ever sampled. They made our stay truly memorable and we can't wait to go back. I cannot stress how amazing our stay was thanks to Francesco and Angela

Absolutely nothing!

The awesome team made us feel welcome like long lost family. They are so generous and kind which is a very rare experience these days. They were always there to help and treated us with lovely fruit platters and drinks. An amazing holiday.

The breakfast was delicious! Prepared right there in the kitchen, everything was fresh and there were so many options to choose from. We chose to have dinner two of the nights we were there and it far exceeded our expectations, so incredibly good!

The hosts Francesco & Angela are superb. The place is so relaxing. We used to dine at the place, and the food is amazing. Breakfast is abundant..Big thanks to the people who used to clean the room and cook for us. We will never forget this experience of our 3 nights in Paterno. Beautiful location. Francesco & Angela were so welcoming. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious. Everything so fresh. Rooms were very clean and loved the pool area where you could relax in the sun.

The location is like an oasis next to the Etna. The owners are extremely welcoming and generous, we felt immediately comfortable. There is the option to eat dinner, which we strongly recommend. We had an early flight in the morning and were not able to attend breakfast. However, Francesco provided us with a delicious sandwich and a banana. We would strongly recommend this lovely agriculturo.
