Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCar parking is restricted in the village and the car has to stay in the public car park at he edge of he village once bags have been dropped off.
We stayed for one night in this unique B&B in the small hilltop village of Monticchiello. Property is spotlessly clean and beautifully presented with traditional architectural details. Communal areas available to relax in and the breakfast was individually made for us with home made traditional Tuscan rolls. Host was informative and supportive and made a great effort to make us feel at home. Great choice of restaurants for our evening meal considering the size of the village.

Breakfast was excellent, Francesco was very accommodating.

It amazes me how this kind of accommodation really exists! So you will be staying in Adelina's home, for real. All the things that a normal home has.....you will find them in their place: the pans on the stove, the pictures on the cabinets and so on. The livingroom is extremely cosy and usually gathers all the people that have booked rooms in the house. The view is amazing, the city is a gem really (it takes you 10 minutes to see it all and it is a medieval city therefore all the roads are narrow and paved). The host is really nice and friendly. Staying there is like being part of his family. Big room. Very clean. Nice view and extreme silence. Comfy bed. Breakfast amazing. Building nicely decorated in Italian style.

This was the highlight of our honeymoon in Italy. Francesco was a fantastic host - professional, responsive and even took the time to help us plan a course for a run. His home cooked breakfast (eggs, cakes, tarts) was amazing. Monticchiello is a pristine and tiny town without the hoards of tourists of some of the bigger towns around. Highly recommend.

United KingdomThe area is beautiful, but it is remote, and we did not do much research because we went to a wedding. You definitely need a car to get about..no local buses and taxis are very few. Our friends tried 6 different companies and couldn't get one. Francesco was able to sort us one, but be mindful they charge quite a bit. Please do not be put off by this, though. It's beautiful
The village was so beautiful and scenic..the home run by francesco was amazing. Francesco was attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. It's a very small village and everyone is friendly. A few restaurants, a couple of regional shops and a small grocery shop down the hill. It's definitely a place to relax and use has a pit stop, for visiting other places.

Everything. Nicest stay in Italy. Francesco was the perfect host. The breakfast was fresh and almost healthy. Francesco cooked eggs, crepes and pies. The Village is between Pienza and Montepulciano, so you have a good spot.

Francesco is wonderful host and a great chef! The breakfasts are great! This is our 4th trip to Italy and one of our best stays! United StatesBooking.com did not make clear how complicated it might be to get to and from the town if traveling by public transportation (impossible) which, in the end, added to our adventure.
Francesco, the host, artistically prepared and served each breakfast. He also helped us plan a walk to Montepulciano. The B&B is an old family home and staying there is like going home.

United StatesParking is outside the walls of Monticchiello but it seems to be safe.
The location is in the heart of the town of Monticchiello. Easy to get up and walk around this town to explore the shops, restaurants and the history of the town. This B & B is well appointed and the easy access to the kitchen allows you to bring in food for when you don't want to eat out. Breakfast was very good with a selection of cut fruit, egg sandwiches and meats, along with coffee. I will stay here again when in the area

United StatesThere wasn’t anything about the place we didn’t like. Just know there is a bit of a walk from the parking lot and no lift.
The town of Monticchiello is a very quaint Tuscan town. There is no parking within the walls overnight. There is parking, but know that it is uphill all the way to La Casa di Adelina. Also, there is no lift, so it is up about 3 small flights of stairs. The lodging is beautiful. There is a common area that is quite large and cozy. My sisters, my husband and I were the only people staying there. The rooms were good size, the bathrooms as well. Showers were European size (a tad tight) but good water pressure and towels! Breakfast was great! Fresh fruit, good size lattes, eggs on toast, assorted breads. We all enjoyed our stay. Francesco was very good at communicating and his wife was really great when she greeted us and got us settled. All 4 of us would highly recommend this hotel. We didn’t do much in town, but we did dine at Daria’s. Great dinner!
