Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The people are the check in desk were amazing. The location as well is really good. Getting there was a bit confusing at first though but google maps came to the rescue.

HungaryNo air conditioning in the room, holes on the mosquito screen, immediate noise under the window. Lower bed sockets are only accessible by pulling the bunk bed away from the wall.
Friendly staff and very convenient location along the metro line with easy access to all important stations and the city center. Nice common area with a projector. Very neat and clearn toilets, friendly decor.

RussiaThe only thing I didn't quite like is the fact that the room door can't be closed, there is no key or card that you get, so it doesn't feel super secure :( Also, there is no AC, only a small fan, so it can get a little hot and stufffy in the room. Plus, it's better to bring a small lock for the lockers, as the ones in the hotel do not have any (you can also but them there for 3 euros)
It's a good hostel, we even got an upgrade to our room, so the stay was more comfortable than we expected. It's clean, the location is good and the staff was really welcoming. We also enjoyed the location, it's not a long walk away from the centre and there is a metro station nearby.

United KingdomWhile we were there it was very hot in milan and the rooms were very hot at night - my only critique would be the lack of some form of air conditioning or fan in the room. Otherwise everything we needed was provided for.
I was in the 6 person mixed dorm with a private bathroom, the room and beds were comfortable, the bathroom was functional and clean - and all the people we shared with were pleasant and quite. While we didn't make use of any of the shared facilities it seemed well equipped with lots to do and the staff were really helpful and responded quickly to anything we needed.
