Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI've never experienced a more uncomfortable night. At least ten mosquito bites. A visit to a pharmacy for the necessary remedies and a serious spraying of the room helped. Close proximity to the sea was great but the railway line was much closer. RAIL TRAVELLERS NOTE - the hotel is definitely not within comfortable walking range and taxis are far from common. Not sure I liked the metal tables in the room. Quirkiness a feature of the hotel but armchair and bed were comfortable.
The breakfast was not as good as some but perfectly ok. I prefer a self-serve process which this wasn't. The owner created a fun atmosphere with her friendly and cheerful manner. Very helpful too, helping me with a travel pass for buses. A bus stop just down the road meant easy trips to neighbouring tourist sites. A rooftop terrace was a bonus for an evening meal.

United KingdomVery friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast, pistachio croissant - you can die for :) Good cleaning and sufficient air conditioning in the room. Small grill restaurant & bar at the roof with best view. We got a parking slot (limited, for about 15 cars), costs €15 a day. Nice long mostly sandy beach just across the road - free public one 200m to the left. Hotel provides metal bottles and refills them or your own with chilled drinking (still) water free of charge - vey convenient! Just 5 min walk from town centre with plenty restaurants/cafe around.

UkraineI wish we could stay longer :) a small surprise was at the checkout when the entire minibar content was included into the final bill despite we didn't take any. I've noticed that already after we left but i assume it's just an error that would've been fixed if we asked at the reception. Just keep an eye on your final bill when checking out and you'll be fine.
So we were driving down from Milan to Nice and looked for an overnight stay hoping not to land in another villa-whatever kind of boring hotel and we discovered a gem! We were offered a clean and spacious room with a seaview, way better than what you expect from a 3-star hotel. We couldn't resist staying a couple more nights as it is an absolute joy of a place. The team is super friendly and helpful in each and every aspect. They are truly a pleasure to speak with, and everyone helped us with every minor ask we had. And yeah, his Majesty The Breakfast! It is a golden standart of what a hotel in a small town could offer - crispy croissants with vanilla cream, a decent choice of meat and cheese, freshly prepared scrambled egs, very good coffee to name a few things we loved here.

FranceThere is no pavement right in front of the hotel so you have to walk in the street for a few meters before reaching the entrance. Not a problem in the off-season but could be tricky when it gets very busy in summer, especially if you have a pram.
The room and reception areas were recently renovated in a fun and pleasant retro-inspired design. Our room had a view of the beach and we could hear the sound of the waves crashing as we fell to sleep.

LatviaIt's a bit unusual that you couldn't take breakfast yourself, but the ladies served it from buffet. We wanted the room to be a bit more modern and well-furnished.
Great place to stay with dog. Breakfast was rich and in a nice hall. On the roof, if the weather was good, there was a great restaurant! We had a big room. 300m from hotel you can find beach where you can go with dog.

United StatesParking can be tricky but we found a place not too far away.
Great location right across the street from the beach. Public access beaches are a little bit of a walk from there but for €10 you can go to the private beach right across the street and have two chairs, an umbrella and waiter named Paulo! I believe every room has a view of the beach and it was a treat to wake up to the sound of the ocean! The owner of the hotel is fantastic - she was so helpful. The breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend!

BelgiumThere are two points which could be better. The parking space provided by the hotel was on the back street, so you have to walk some time after leaving the car. This was mainly because of the parking issue in Pietra Ligure, not because of the hotel I guess and not a big problem. Second is access to the sea. There are private places called "bagni" and they are fully booked (at least in August). So you can't find any sunbeds and umbrellas around. In order to swim, you have to walk 400m parallel to the sea and use the public section of the beach. There are no sunbeds and umbrellas available here. This is where "Chiosco al Mare" is located, which is also operated by the hotel.
The room with sea view was very nice and spacious, we also liked the balcony. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Even we arrived late in the night, outside of reception hours, they did their best to welcome us. Breakfast was excellent, there was an open buffet which they were preparing your plates upon your request. Selection was finely prepared. Also definitely try the roof restaurant, the view is marvellous especially during the sunset times. Wi-Fi connection was quite stable.

ItalyThe street between the hotel and the sea is quite busy, and sleeping with the window open is impossible. But then, that is not the hotel's fault, and the windows are sound-proof and the A/C does its job. There could be more electricity outlets (esp. near the nightstands) for charging the usual stuff one carries around these days.
Our four night stay in July 2023 couldn't have been better. The location next to the beach is superb, and only a short stroll away from the Pietra Ligure town center. The hotel's atmosphere in the common areas is very modern and up to date, the rooms are adequate, with A/C working fine. Breakfast is served from a wide selection of options, everything prepared with fresh ingredients. While the breakfast room is friendly and spacious, the absolute highlight is the possibility to take your tray up to the roof terrace with is commanding view over the Mediterranean. The hotel also serves dinner on the roof, another great experience. (The grilled burgers were excellent!) The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to help. The car park is a short 300 m walk from the hotel, in a quiet residential area, gated (not guarded), away from the street, and seems very secure. There is the possibility to briefly park the car in front of the hotel for checking in and out. WiFi works perfectly, with ca. 20 MBit/s download speed. I (unfortunately) had to participate in a three hour teleconference during my stay, and the connection was smooth and worked very well.

Francewish the hotel had its own parking but there is no space. That being said, the parking wasn't too far, just weird to find with one way streets and some construction blocking parts of the other side of the street. The hotel did their best giving me instructions and a map... even with that AND my GPS it took me at least 1/2 hour to find the entrance. One one side the entrance is a one way street so you can't enter there... you can actually, but I tried to be legal. On the other side, the access is at the end of the post office parking lot I think... the parking lot behind has a construction area where the scaffold covers the tiny street/alley. I didn't realize I could drive through there until I saw someone else do it.
loved it was super clean and welcoming to my dog. many other guests had dogs as do the managers of the hotel. cleaning staff very helpful. breakfast was super nice, especially since I think it is ALL made in house - from breads to cakes and focaccia and more

SwitzerlandIt is a pity that the hotel does not have a private lido for the hotel guests, nor discounted rates with the lidos on the beach.
Location is great, just in front of the beach. Nice terrace for drinks and dinner. Fresh and good quality breakfast. Hotel car park four minutes walk.

Switzerlandthe hotel is sandwiched exactly between main Road in front and railway line immediately behind meaning expect some noise especially with windows opening sitting on balcony. Room 301 our room perfect example of this. nicely furnished but avoid. this room was given as an upgrade but I felt and saw no advantage. The hotel lift is quite tiny meaning hard to stand in lift with the breakfast tray for even 1 person. The breakfast is a SERVED to you from buffet service rather than self choice , so 1 pick only of what fits onto a tray.
New property & well fitted. The opportunity to eat breakfast up on the 6 th floor roof terrace is amazing. Opposite hotel across road is an immaculately maintenance beach area with beds. Although Hotel not located at far end of the town, the walk along to centre is pleasant stroll only 1/2 km away approx. friendly welcoming staff
