Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Lovely hotel. Staff were very helpful. The property is clean throughout. Comfortable bed. The breakfast is a mixture of hot and cold dishes. It is 15 mins from the train station and about 25 mins to the historical town. To reach the hotel you need to go through the sliding doors which is the shopping centre. Then go up about 8 escalators to the very top then the hotel is very close from there. The hotel will give you directions also

New ZealandPerhaps the bedding could be changed to be white or a neutral colour. The old dated decor feels a little unclean although not.
Great location, nice and quiet rooms. Lots of space. Very clean. Helpful staff. Would return!

United KingdomExcellent location, very comfortable with wi-fi, aircon, mini bar and a large bathroom. Excellent breakfast with, among all else we would find in a 4 star hotel, a chocolate fountain, a fresh pancake machine and a yoghurt dispenser! That’s called going ‘above and beyond’.

PolandThe localization of the hotel is superb - it is less a 5-minute walk distant from the main train/bus station (the only thing you have to know is that you must reach level 2 of the shopping gallery located in the train station area and then choose stairs or an escalator) - I guess a taxi journey would take a bit longer. It is also close to Camollia Antiporte where your journey to the medieval Siena may start. A bus stop for local and intercity (e.g. San Gimignano or Florence) buses is also close. Although the street may be a bit noisy, we almost did not hear it (our room was located in a side building). The room was quite comfortable for 4 people and three suitcases, although, truly speaking, we did not spend too much in it. The breakfast is served in a main buidling and it is delicious - especially the cakes and croissants. I was personally fond of orange juice - perfectly balanced between being sweet and sour. The staff was very kind and really helpful. And last but not the least - there is a chance to use a swimming pool located in another hotel - a valuable option in summer - although we did not use it (5 days is not too much time). I do sincerely recommend.

CanadaIt was very comfortable with modern amenities and only about a 20 min walk from the campo. It was on one of the main streets so very easy to get there and back. Somewhat outside the main downtown blocks but close enough and away from noise. Plus they have an agreement with their sister hotel for use of the pool in summer months which was such a bonus. The bus stop was a 2 min walk down the street. The staff themselves were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable and courteous.

CanadaIt’s great that the hotel has parking spots in the back, which should be booked in advance. However, as there’s no spot in front of the hotel to park the car during the check in, I recommend that the hotel provides instructions on how to bring the car in through the back door in advance so that guests can have a place for their car during check in.

United StatesA lovely hotel! Hotel Italia is a beautiful hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is a short walk from the Siena train station. The room was very clean and the view from our balcony was amazing. They had a nice selection for breakfast. We really loved that they partner with Hotel Garden in Siena and we were able to use the pool at Hotel Garden!

United StatesThe breakfast was not as good as I thought. Coffee machine in the breakfast room HAS to go and in Italy you cannot possibly offer bad coffee, make the breakfast better and more interesting. The silly coffee/tea set up in the room is ridiculous, take it out, no-one will ever ask for it. Thx and I will be back!

MaltaPerhaps the beds and mattresses need some upgrades
Located just 12 minutes' walk from Siena historical city centre main entrance in a main busy road. Nevertheless the room was still quite. Room and bathroom were very clean. The beds were not as comfortable as i would have expected however they were still ok. It is very well kept. Very easy to reach by car. We found this hotel to be in very good location considering that we were palnning to visit San Gimignano and Volterra as well as Montepulciano and Pienza which are all around 1hr drive from Siena and are found on either side of the city. All four sities are worth visiting. Parking is charged at a small rate of EUR10 per night however do not expect a big parking lot. it is very very difficult to maneuver the car inside the parking however, it is still convenient as it is very difficult to find a parking space in the area and for free. I would still go for it if i had to stay again in this hotel. Staff at the hotel are very helpful. Breakfast is delicious with a variety of food.

United KingdomLovely hotel, we really enjoyed our stay. We upgraded to a room with a terrace and we loved to have the opportunity to relax outside with a coffee and/or wine in the evenings or when it was raining (we caught some heavy thunderstorms but it just hits different in Italy from a terrace with some wine in your hands). The room was very clean and spacious, the bed very comfy. Breakfast was nice with lots of options and very friendly, kind staff, however sommetimes a little busy. We really enjoyed the location too - not the centre of town (I would say about 20 minutes of walk into the town centre) but great if you're connecting via train and don't mind the walk. We rented a car and found it easy to drive in and out of town from this location and to find free parking just minutes away from the hotel, too (we were also offered to park at a nearby hotel, but didn't need to do this). We loved our stay and would definitely return.
