Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanNo water bottle. No power source next to the pillow. The bathroom alarm went off at around 10pm just after I fell asleep. I don't know why. The restaurant was nice but I was the only customer.
The entrance is a little hard to find, as it's set back from the street, but it's convenient as it's close to the gate to the Pompeii ruins, which we visited the next morning. The room is good. Wifi worked well.

United StatesOnly that our shower would not heat quickly, and the surround was awkward to use.
This is a gem, a respite from the bustling crowds ( of which we were a part of!) of history lovers that want to pay respects to the people and place of Pompeii. Their grounds and gardens are a beautiful match to all the lovely staff we met!

United KingdomThere was nothing I can find fault with.
Great location. Fabulous setting and garden off-set from the road, which provides a lovely oasis of calm from the crowds and is a delightful place to eat or have a drink. Fantastic breakfast. Large, well-appointed, clean room - very good value for money. Very comfortable bed. Rooms are designed around an open, inner courtyard - very spacious and airy. Friendly, helpful staff.

Truly spectacular location! Along with a wonderful garden with the largest lemon trees I've ever seen. The breakfast buffet was diverse and plenty of choices. Best hotel across the street from Pompeii entrance gate. Highly recommend this hotel !

PolandBeautiful quiet patio full of lemon trees, where you can have breakfast or dinner. Delicious pastries for breakfast and even better coffee served by the staff. Great location, very close to the Pompeii museum, local cafe's (if you will and want to try your luck finding better coffee then the one you'll be served for breakfast).

United StatesIf you are driving your own car, they tell you "we have arrangements with a close parking area". This is located far enough away that you can't park and take your luggage. Also, if the parking is full, you sit in your car and wait until someone exits to be able to park. It is also located by the "kiddie land", so you have to get thru the pack of kids and parents, most of the time to make it out to the main street. If you have a special or private tour of Pompeii and are to meet your guide at the "Porta Marina Superiore" entrance, be aware it is NOT by the hotel and is not within walking distance. Ask the hotel for a taxi they will happily arrange it, or ask for a different entrance to the park.
The location of the hotel is fantastic. It is across from the Pompeii ruins. The outdoor space and amazing trees with HUGE lemons is wonderful to relax after a day of visiting the ruins. Good dinner and breakfast. The hotel is also located in close walking distance to a major square for drinks. There are also several restaurants right at the hotel street. If you are traveling with kids, just down the street is a cool "kids/teens" arcade with kiddie rides and an abundant games room.

United KingdomSuperb location across from the amphitheatre entrance to the ruins. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the rooms were fine. Pompei is not a luxurious location, it is very touristy and entirely geared toward the incredible historical site that is right there. This hotel is as great as you will find in the town and a very comfortable stay.

United KingdomNo adverse comments from me
This hotel is an oasis of calm just off the mayhem on the main street of Pompeii. After the visit to the ruins (which up to 4 million visitors a year go) you enter a quiet orange tree filled garden where you can take meals which are all freshly prepared with the scent of Jasmine in the background. Friendly and helpful staff and the hotel arranged a private guide just for us not part of a group who showed us much more detail than the bigger groups could possibly take in. On the main street outside there were restaurants of all kinds but we ate in and it was very similar in prices to those outside.

United KingdomWe felt the Reception Team were a bit disengaged and not especially helpful in advising on travel options or helping us to enjoy our 5 night stay. This was a bit disappointing; we would have given the hotel a higher rating but for this.
Lovely hotel in an ideal location for exploring the ruins of Pompeii. Central to the town but set back from the main strip with a peaceful garden. Comfortable and well maintained accommodation. Excellent breakfast served by the lovely Elena and a decent restaurant. We felt this represented very good value for money.
