Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

IrelandThe night I spent there, the air conditioning was not working for some reason. It was really warm, and we slept without A/C and with the windows opened.
The location is good, just 10-15 mins walking from Termini station. The staff was really nice, either the three guys I spoke with were friendly and always willing to help.

FranceThe bed is not very comfortable, especially with the metal ladder to climb up. The incessant water sound from toilet is quite annoying. Honestly the whole hostel smells old and couldn't be say it's very clean.
It is a lovely hostel, well equipped. The front desk people is really nice and helpful. I'm satisfied with the price and the location, compared to the other options in Roma.

GermanyThe accommodation is basic and converted apartments. The toilet was broken the whole time, so had to flush with a bucket. Apart from that it was the cheapest I could get at this time, but still not really cheap.
I liked that the property offered free coffee in the morning and my bed was clean and ok. I also appreciated that we were only 2 in the room and had a key and lockers.

CanadaThe matress was unusually thin and lumpy, had to pay 2 Euro to use a towel, elevator didn't work ( 5 flights of stairs). I find 50 Euro a lot to pay for a shared dorm of this quality.
Location excellent, short walk from the station, quiet place. Bedlinens and bathroom were very clean in my 4- bed dorm.

FinlandI think the black spots in the shower might have been mold. The AC didn't work or we couldn't get it to work (it had a light on so we thought it might've been doing something but could find no way to turn it colder), the room wasn't unbearably hot but was too hot for our comfort. Since the booking.com posting said the room would have AC I'd wish that this will be fixed. The hotel did have wifi but it was very slow and sometimes just didn't work. I wouldn't rely on it for anything important.
The room was bigger than expected, well enough for the two of us. There was a small fridge in our room and a communal fridge in the kitchen. Free coffee/hot chocolate was provided in the mornings, no breakfast included. The location was very good, we could walk to almost every sight we went to. The hotel was also easy to find. The rooms had decent noise insulation, we weren't bothered by neighbour's or noises from the street. We did need to have the window closed at night because the street below is busy and would have been too noisy to keep open. On arriving you have to pay a tax, 5€/night/person, so for us two people+8 nights was 80€ in total. It needs to be paid in cash. As far as I know this tax applies to all the hotels in Rome, so you can't escape it. The staff was very nice, we'd forgotten to bring enough cash and were allowed to pay later.
