Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyThere is no hot or even acceptable warm water in the bathrooms. Apparently the temperature gets turned really low (I guess to save money?). The effect is unbearable cold water. This might still work in the warmer months but we had a couple colder rainy days in mid September. We couldn't even shower those days because it was way too cold and the rest of the days it was also more of "let's get over with this as fast as possible". I asked about the water once and it was turned to a warmer temperature but this took around 20 minutes in total - not suitable for every day to go and ask for warm water if one doesn't want to waste lots of time. And still it was only lukewarm and by far not hot. I checked the reviews afterwards and apparently this seems to be an ongoing issue.
Room was clean, staff was very friendly. Silent at night. Location was also fine and we were able to walk everywhere.

SpainVery uncomfortable and short beds. No possibilities for breakfast in the facilities, while being placed in an expensive neighborhood. The common area is not very comfortable for resting. Price is above average for a sort of hostel without many services and suc uncomfortable beds.

IndiaThere was no breakfast facility except a coffee wending machine being kept for coffee. The funny part is it is available for a few hours in the morning only. That area was not fully clean either. As far as room is concerned, it is fine but the scary part is the Air Condition in the rooms gave a pathetic performance. The brighter part is none of the tourists seriously objected and were more generous in this regard. Toilets have very few facilities and could be improved for the visitors' convenience. If these are taken care of, it is a very good place to stay.
I liked the rooms [but not the AC], the ambience, the friendly staff and the perfect location of the hotel. I should appreciate the elevator facility too.

Spaini stayed at the 4th floor and there's always loud banging from the floor above us, even in the middle of the night. acoustics are bad, so you can hear the upstairs people talking when everything is quiet. so, if you're ever staying at the same floor, bring some earplugs cuz you'll need them. the bathroom shower was broken and the toilet bowl has a permanent stain from the water flow that needs to be checked.
staff were nice. room was spacious. location is convenient and close to a lot of bus stops, even train and metro stations. i had no problem with going back late. they clean the common areas daily which is nice.
