Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis is as 'grand' a traditional hotel as is imaginable, beautiful decor, lovely garden, tastefully decorated room. Staff friendly and helpful and didn't turn away a traveller with a backpack and walking boots. Strangely quiet though, when I was there the focus seemed to be on conferences taking place, hence, perhaps, the exceptionally cheap rate I had for one night. Very memorable taste of the high-life. Recommended.

Czech RepublicHaving some experience in hospitality ourselves, it is a bit pity that the staff is not little more friendly, to fulfill guests expectations when coming into such hotel. We would also appreciate a bit more attention to detail, especially at the reception as this is the first contact for guests.
The hotel looks like a fairy tale and has a beautiful garden and pool (not open in May though). The breakfast was one of the best we have had, wide selection of food and drinks, delicious choices.

United KingdomIt's an old hotel and doesn't have many of the facilities that modern and much cheaper hotels have, eg USB plugs, sound proof doors and digital TVS. Breakfast was average but served but by very friendly helpful staff Upon checking in I was told that I had only booked for one and would have to pay and extra 60 Euros per night for my daughter. Luckily I had my original booking and it showed I had booked for both of us. When I questioned this the hotel agreed and explained that they had simply not looked into the booking in great detail, I was a bit annoyed about this as their simple error may have proven quite costly to me.

Stunning beachfront location. Historic classic building sympathetically modernised. Room 328: well-equipped and comfortable room and bathroom, both with views of the Adriatic. Attentive, friendly and helpful staff. An excellent range of dishes at the breakfast buffet.

Germanyno coffee kit in the room which is a huge minus for a 5 star hotel. we asked for a kettle and we got one with 2 cups but no coffee... what's the point. air-condition hardly functions. and no option to enjoy spa or indoor room unless booked for a very expensive amount.
the room was large and the bathroom was excellent and very comfortable . very nice and rich breakfast

LuxembourgNo one at the door and no one at the reception when I arrived. I got a rather horrible room but after some discussions I was upgraded to a much nicer room with some daylight.
It is a grand hotel of the old school which has charm.

United StatesAC is controlled by front desk and you must ask to have it cooler. Our room was very hot and humid as it was set at 25! I had to call repeatedly to try to make my room comfortable. Despite the staff’s attempts to lower the temperature, it would not move below 24. Opening the window at night was cooler than the AC. The Rimini area is tacky. Beachy. Crowded. Outdoor seating with everyone smoking. Luckily, we found a wonderful seafood restaurant on the harbor, away from the tacky strip with outstanding food and service. Club Nautico you saved our trip!!!!
Classy, immaculate property. Staff were kind and competent. The room I booked was an Executive King. It was large and clean with a comfortable bed. We slept very well. The breakfast was delicious and in a stunning ball room with table service gif the coffee

AustraliaI had read mixed reviews especially around the noise factor which disturbed sleep. I was lucky the street disco/club was not operating outside summer months. So that was a relief. The lighting is high tech and takes some working out. The pool was roped off so could not use even though it was warm weather.
The room was well appointed and the bed linen was exceptional making for great sleeping. Pillows weee also very comfortable. The room was quite large when considering their was a walk in wardrobe as well as super sided ensuite. The breakfast was amazing, and included Prosecco 🥹

The hotel was absolutely beautiful, well looked after and clean. There was alot of attention to detail in its design.

CanadaI wouldn't have taken the sea view room had it been explained to me and when I complained about this at checkout I was told that this was a frequent complaint. I was given 1 night credit for the sea view room but I feel like I shouldn't have been charged at all
Everything at the hotel was great, until 10 pm in the evening. I had asked for a sea view room but what I was not told was that each evening there would be loud, uninterrupted music playing from the esplanade that would keep us awake until it was over at 2 am.

Netherlands- Old hotel, rooms are old, small cupboards, no ability to close your curtains (we had to use an elastic), airconditioning was woking in one room but was not possible to turn off (kept going on) and in the other room could not be switched on, only ventilator worked but it made so much noise that was not comfortable to sleep, toilet was not always flushing - outside there is a lot of noise from disco’s and club - they had Only 2 tabels for a company of more that 4 persons so if you did not reserve at breakfast it was pretty cramped - almost impossible to eat in the hotel unless you reserved well in advance which of course we did not as we only stayed for 1 week. Not for a la carte restaurant and buffet only couple days in advance (never experienced that before for a buffet ) Hotel was a bit kids unfriendly. In the pool they could not stand. They were not allowed to use any toys, inflatables, bodyboard etc. Also on the beach we were not allowed to play with a ball or sit in front of the beach beds near the beach when kids play (there was at least 30 meter space between sea and the first row of the beach beds). Absolutely ridiculous. Dogs were allowed though. Most of the staff do not speak english or really bad Spa was also lacking an upgrade both in interior, comfort and treatments - lunch only at the beach with a bit chaotic service Booking.com had image of balcony on our booking confirmation of our room. We did not get a room with a balcony - it was simply bad luck said the hotel. Manager told us when we said we felt overcharged that we had to specifically request a room with a balcony and said there was no extra charge for a balcony (opposite what is normal and what the reception staff said). He felt no reason to refund a portion of this. Also once room was 1070 more expensive but they were exactly the same. He said that we had a third bed, which normally is either not charged for kids in other hotels or something like 30 euro.
Beautiful building exterior, nice beach and fresh comfortable beachbeds, good location at the boulevard

CanadaThe pool area does not have enough chairs for the guests …it looks like some guests knew the staff and they reserved their chairs with their towels all day long so other guests couldn’t use them If guests leave the pool area for hours and hours pool staff should remove towels from loungers

GeorgiaThe breakfast was not the one we expected. no variety, same food everyday(which tasted 6 out of 10). you could have ordered from the other menu, which was not free and should have paid like in a restaurant if you wanted a little bit of diversity. The beach of hotel was very expensive(60-70 euro per person), which had no exceptional facilities, was just a regular beach with grand hotel's name written on sunbeds. The rooms we had booked (1 deluxe double and 1 triple), did not look as good as we expected, so we added money to be transfered in better room. (not enough space, little window that did not give the room enough air and light). We woke up earlier to go to the pool and lay near it, but it was impossible most of the time, because of others leaving their towels on sunbeds very early in the morning, before the pool was even open. Wi-fi of the hotel does not work most of the time, but one of the staff members helped me very much to solve the problem.
The hotel has historical building which looks very beautiful, exceptional inside and out. Location is central, close to good restaurants and several beaches. The diner planned by the hotel was amazing, with very delicious food, lively musicians and overall vibe(for which we paid 85 euros per person + extra money for beverages). Junior Suite is quite big, has beautiful old furniture and separated room for third person.

IrelandThe waiting staff at breakfast were generally unfriendly. There were 3 younger members of staff that were very nice but the older men (30+) were rude and unhelpful. They would literally ignore you and fawn over the Italian guests. There was a municipal concert with horrendous music blaring for 3 nights in a row. It was like a live concert in our room...avoid the hotel if this concert is underway! In fairness to the hotel, when we complained they gave us a free beach entry. The price of the hotel's beach is expensive..€120 for 1 umbrella and 3 sunbeds per day...for a hotel guest. Swimming pool is small. They do not have sufficient sun umbrellas for guests. Also they allow people to book sunbeds early in the morning. Reception said they have a policy of no booking of sunbeds but it wasn't enforced.
Bedroom was excellent. Beautiful room and excellent housekeeping services. Hotel is historic and in a lovely location. Staff at reception were very nice and friendly. Breakfast was very good with a great selection of food. Beautiful outdoor terrace.
