Everything about the hotel is wonderful. What’s not to like. The food, the staff, the facilities, location…simply amazing.

No chair in the room so had to sit on the bed. Shower exceptionally poor. Very small, not even a square. Water kept going from hot to cool so had to constantly tweak the control. The shower head slider did not work so had to avoid the spray. At this price I would expect a bath. A shower might be handy but for a holiday a long hot soak is a dream. The bed head was too small for the mattress so the mattress could not go against the bed head, leaving a wide gap between the two, this meant pillows kept dropping down the gap so as it was the only place to sit, it was very uncomfortable. This needs addressing with the interior designer. School boy error. The pool although lovely has too many odd bits sticking out of it which are quite dangerous when swimming. The Brasserie restaurant was lovely but too nice if you wanted to eat there more than a couple of times.

The welcome from the reception staff and then from every single member of staff we met, nothing was too much trouble, polite, friendly, professional. Excellent location. Spotlessly clean. Good toiletries, towels. bedding, storage, etc. Breakfast very good, delicious cakes. Lovely pool area, bar, restaurant on 5th floor. The chef comes out to speak to you. Once again, the staff are amazing.

The standard in the hotel was just exceptional …we had 4 fabulous days to rest after a lot of travelling and sight seeing. We just loved it!! Vicky at the rooftop pool was so kind and caring …just what we needed…be sure to pop up there!!

The beach club attached to the hotel is not run by the hotel and therefore lacks the standard set by the hotel - facilities, quality of the food - etc -

Simple the best of many 5 star hotels we have stayed in by far. Staff were exceptionally professional. Hotel was awarded the best breakfast in Italy award- apart from an amazing array of homemade pastries and breakfast sundries, we had chefs making crepe suzettes at our table and the Michelin chef was always on hand with steak tartare, oysters and crevettes.. yes, for breakfast- amazing! Although there was a 2 star Michelin restaurant in the evening, we ate at the roof top terrace restaurant to enjoy the spectacular sunset view. Our ‘room’ was a suite of bedroom + lounge + hall + 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies. We had toiletries by Aqua di Parma and Bulgari each day and goodie bag of chocolates upon departure. Yes, it was expensive, but worth every penny. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

Absolutely nothing to fault

This hotel is oozing luxury. What a perfect place that completely encapsulates the meaning of a 5 star hotel. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous but what made our stay so special is the attention to detail from the incredible staff. Every person we interacted with was incredibly personable, friendly and professional and would go out of their way to ensure we were enjoying our stay. They all knew who we were from the moment we checked in to the point where we didn’t even need to say our room number or name at the hotel bars and restaurants. The room was perfection and absolutely gorgeous, so chic and stunning with the most luxurious bvlgari toiletries to use! All of the facilities were immaculate and it was so clean we felt there wasn’t anyone staying at the hotel! Another highlight had to be the incredible breakfast, my goodness you’ve never seen a spread like it, so many choices and all of them delicious, the handmade fresh pastries were to die for.

The street in front of the hotel is super busy/noisy at night - motorbikes/cars and even trucks. The whole room shakes when a bigger car goes by. It was almost impossible to sleep in the room with direct sea view, even though we were on the 4th floor. That was the only negative, otherwise the hotel was amazing, as were the staff! I would expect such a luxury property to invest in soundproofing for sea view rooms - especially when it faces a very busy road.

The property itself is a landmark. The luxury built into the hotel is incredible. Even the elevator ride is fascinating with a video view of Viareggio.
