Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere were building repairs opposite and the hallway is compact meaning much noise from 5:30am onwards - not ideal if you’ve hiked cinque Terre the day before.

CanadaThe room is small and triple rooms can’t see the sea.
The breakfast at the terrace has exceptional sea view and is the best of the stay. The steps to the room is fine as long as you don’t have large luggage. There are steps and climbs almost every where in Cinque Terra. The staff at the restaurant are very helpful and kind. Just remind that the restaurant is at the bottom of the hill in the village Anna the rooms are after steps.

MauritiusWe didn't realise that we had to climb up 98 steps (yes, I counted them), some of them quite high, to reach our room, with our suitcases in tow. It was quite a work out. This may not be a good situation for older or not so fit people.
The room had necessary basic amenities and was comfortable. The 'waow' factor came with breakfast which was served on the deck overlooking the sea and cliffs. This is what I call breakfast with a view.

CanadaIf you have heavy luggage, getting up to the rooms is not easy. Many steep stairs and a ship ladder style stairs to get to upper level rooms. I advise the property to provide baggage handlers especially for middle aged or older folks. But, it is a beautiful location!!
Great location in Cinque Terra!!! Easy access from the train station. Great food experiences. !! Great base location to visit all other Villages.

CanadaMy wife eats vegan and there were very limited options for her for breakfast. The breakfast that I had was typical for Italian hotel breakfasts.
The room was clean. The beds were spartan, but good. The breakfast room/afternoon wine bar was great and the common patio was fabulous. Our room had a street view but was very quiet. I think that it was good value for the money.

United StatesThe crowds!
The hotel provides breakfast on a gorgeous patio overlooking the sea. There is also a private patio for guests with the same amazing views. Vernazza was slammed with people during the day but calmed down in the evening. Good restaurants and gelato nearby.

United StatesWe have to beg to have help up with our baggage (we're 73 years old and didn't want to chance a fall without a rail, etc.). I feel that they have to offer help up the stairs if people request or might need it. We were fine walking up and down, but not with our baggage!
This was a wonderful hotel with an outside bar/breakfast and second patio area above the cliffs with a phenomenal view! The only downside is it has 100+ steep steps up to our room (which was very nice).

MauritiusWe could not leave our bags when checking out while we were trekking on our last day too, and had to pay and extra cost like 20 euro in an office few meters away ( not far). There is not really a reception, but a bar, and the nice lady brings you to your room (and you have to climb many stairs but that's Cinque Terre.
Room for 1 night was with 3 single beds as booked. Comfortable beds and linen. Quiet room. Good bathroom. Beautiful view for breakfast which was good, simple but nice.

United StatesMy only issue is the twin mattresses are a bit old. You can feel the springs in the beds. They were not to most comfortable of beds but this was not as bad as the B&B we stayed at in Florance. The staff wasn't super resposive to questions emailed online. I only ever got 1 response to 4 different sets of emails even after contacting booking.com. Room is dated in looks for the $200+ a night but the location was great.
Room for 3 (3 twin beds) didn't have alot of views but it was clean. It is a bit dated inside but was fine to sleep. The views from the top balcony where breakfast is served were beautiful. I enjoyed a sunset glass of wine at the bar/ breakfast area. Shower was compact but worked well. The break fast was great! I was so happy they had gluten free crackers, muffins and breads. It was very much appreciated!!!! It's important to know that the rooms are a hike from the check in. You check in at the restaurant then they take you to the rooms. From the street to the room was step 99 steps. The last 2 flights were a very tight winding staircase. We had backpacks so it wasn't bad. Would be very challanging with big suitcases!! Staff was also kind enough to store our bags after check out so we could explore other towns before leaving at the end of the day.

EstoniaPrice little too high. Its really small and simple room. Little window with no view or daylight. No breakfast option. No fridge, no kettle. Bad hairdrier. Maids are knocking loud on doors already ~9am!
Location is really good. Lots of stairs and steps but its everywhere in Cinque Terre :) Shower good, bedsheets good and clean!
