Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Saudi ArabiaNo coffee or kettle in the room. So we had to wait for breakfast at 7:30am
The property is in a calm area and is simply beautiful not like a regular commercial hotel. It's very charming. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Bed pillows are amazing and so so comfortable I can't emphasize enough

BulgariaNo minuses of this hotel!
The hotel is perfect - very stylish boutique hotel! It was like the very Italian style hotel from the romantic movies. We liked very much the elegant way of serving the breakfast - it was like a therapy with this gentle music as a background. The location is great in a very nice and quiet neighbourhood, and very short distance to our favourite Spanish Steps. We highly recommend and definitely will stay here again on our next visit in Rome!

United StatesThe hotel is located in a quiet place with a very limited number of options for restaurants or supermarkets nearby. It is also pretty far from the center. This would not be a problem if public transportation were to work efficiently which was unfortunately not the case. We spent a lot of time waiting for buses that finally did not come. Moreover even though the breakfast is overall excellent, I was disappointed by the very limited number of choices for pastries and bread, which were not very fresh. (The rest of the breakfast was very fresh). Lasly the room we had was pretty small as well as the size of the beds. Fortunately we are not tall!
The hotel is beautiful and is located in a quiet place. The people at the hotel are extremely helpful. There is a lot of original choices for breakfast.

United KingdomLoved everything about the property. It’s about a 45 minute walk into the centre of Rome, which we personally didn’t mind as we enjoy walking, but there are transport options available too which get you into the centre in about 30 minutes.
Absolutely adored our stay. The staff were incredible, friendly & kind. There was a garden event on the Friday evening which meant the kitchen was booked out, but the staff kindly prepared us something special anyway to have. The room was spotless & really comfortable. Our favourite hotel of our whole trip!

ItalyThe staff were so helpful, friendly, took initiative, offered suggestions and always greater us with a smile. The breakfast selection was excellent, from savoury to sweet. The hotel is gorgeous, a mere 20min walk (down hill to) piazza del popolo. If we didn't feel like walking a taxi stand is literally outside the gate as well as a bus stop. We were thoroughly pleased.

United KingdomJust little outside the centre of Rome, but if it was closer you would be paying triple the price, and still walkable
Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel with a lovely garden in the suburbs of Rome. Every detail was beautifully designed and the bonus of a lovely garden.

Czech RepublicAmazing breakfast and customer service! Not a crowded Hotel, a bit far from the city center but close enough for a nice walk towards the center. There is also a bus that goes every 15min and takes 15-20min to the city center.

AustraliaThe hotel is located out of the historic centre. It is walkable but on a hot or wet day it’s a bit of a challenge. However, there is a bus stop and a taxi stand nearby.
The staff were excellent. The garden was a delight to come ‘home’ to after a long hot day around Rome. The breakfast was a delight. There were even mini pavlovas! There are good little restaurants nearby and a supermarket.

PolandIt was our second stay at Mangili Garden Hotel, the place itself, localisation and the personell are all top notch! After our first stay in April we chose to come again for our wedding in Rome in nearby embassy. We and our invited friends loved to stay there! Rooms are really comfy, especially those on reception level. Breakfasts are superb, great choice of cold and hot local dishes, delicious coffee and organic juices! Super thanks to the personell for help and advices!

United KingdomThe location is a little out of the centre, which is what we like. But it is up a reasonably steep hill if you commute via the metro so should be kept in mind. There are buses though. For us, not a problem, but might be for others.
The hotel was great, the staff were so lovely and they upgraded our room for free due to availability. Facilities and service was fantastic, included breakfast was great too. Nice outside area to relax after a day walking around Rome.

SwitzerlandAbout the hotel, nothing really. The only question to have in mind is that it is a bit of a walk to get to reliable public transportation (subway). The bus lines around the location are extremely unreliable. BUT there is a taxi stand right next to the hotel, and prices are reasonable.
the hotel is a very charming historic building that sits in the middle of a green space. The staff is exceedingly nice and courteous. The breakfast is absolutely exceptional, very varied and tasty. The room was comfortable, well decorated and had plenty of natural light - even though it was on a semi-basement floor.
