Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It’s small, compact, and clean. Just what we needed. The location is lovely and quite central to what we had planned. We received a list of recommended restaurants from the staff, which was excellent. The breakfast buffet wasn’t luxurious, but it was definitely enough and delicious.

Foresteria Valdese Venezia is run by a Christian organization, which I didn't know before. It's a very old building with lots of Venician charme. The staff is super friendly and very welcoming. My room was super simple, but had AC – which was quite important, as Venice was very hot at this time of the year. Everything was super clean and the value for money was awesome. Location is also great. Right in the middle of everything. At this price the accommodation is unbeatable.

IndiaGetting to hotel is bit tricky. If you are in large group, better engage water taxi, that will drop you close to the hotel. Washroom/bathroom is outside but it is private so it didn't matter. Only negetive is, the reception closes at 7 pm and it's bit inconvenient if somebody checks in after 7 pm.
Location is perfect, close to all attractions. Eateries were nearby. Our room had a balcony and it was beautiful view to see Gondolas passing through canals. Overall it was pleasant stay.

LatviaThe bathroom has a small shower cubicle about 70x70 cm and the kitchen does not have a microwave as stated on the website. But it didn't matter to me and it didn't affect the rating, I'm just writing so that other travelers can take this information into account.
Very good Hostel. Pleasant welcome, very helpful staff, light but sufficient breakfast. There is a place to store luggage both before check-in and after check-out. Definitely recommend to enjoy Venice!

It is an interesting building, with high ceilings, wide and steep staircases, and large halls. We felt like we were in a museum. Very friendly staff, quite decent breakfast. We liked everything about it.

AustraliaThere were quite a few bugs in the room I was staying at and I got bitten a few times. Having 4 different rooms share one bathroom isn’t ideal either and sometimes had people waiting quite a while as the shower and toilet were combined.
The rooms were big and has an elevator which is nice. It was in a quieter part of Venice which was also nice.
