Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt wasn’t quite as nice as the pictures, we had a table and little kitchen, but no other seating. There was a glass extension on the side which meant the room got very hot. We never quite managed to get the aircon working satisfactorily.
Lovely quiet location, good access to Meta’s beach, a couple of restaurants and a lovely cocktail bar. The bus into Sorrento takes 20 minutes and runs regularly. We had a balcony with sea view over the rooftops. The bed was comfortable and it was nice and clean. The staff always dealt with our queries quickly.

BulgariaThere is a church bell right next to the property tolling every quarter of the hour. It is impossible to sleep without ear plugs. The apartment that we were give n origibally war partially underground and had an awful smell of mould. Fortunately they gave us a nice apartment on the Top floor after we complained
Very spacious apartment, very nice view from the balcony. Conveniently located 10 min from the beach,. 15 min from the train station.

CroatiaWe stayed one night. The apartment is good for one or two nights. It has everything you need for a short stay. The house is an old building and we did not expect a modern apartment. Maria is a good host. The video she sent us helped us a lot. We had parking. Not recommended for bad drivers. Also with a big car it is difficult to pass through narrow streets. It was a good experience.

United KingdomChurch bells every 15 minutes took some getting used to. The area is very quiet so I heard every noise and didn’t sleep through most nights.
Spacious apartment, this was just a base for me as my friends were staying at a nearby hotel for a wedding so was perfect.

ItalyThe entrance of the house is right in one of the bedrooms, so those occupying the first bedroom have to go through the second bedroom to get to the bathroom. Mold in the bathroom, needing some renovating. Very narrow roads to get there

United KingdomHardly any communication with the host. Asked for a few things, never had an answer. A suggestion would be to have 3 of everything if there are 3 guests. A bottle opener would be good.

United KingdomLack of plug in kitchen sink for washing up. Although there was washing up liquid and a sponge which was good.
Went in mid march and apartment was a very good price. It's not far from meta train station, the shops or the sea. You can also see the sea from the balcony. Apartment is on the top floor of a historical building and has two separate bedrooms, a dining room, a kitchen and a bathroom. There's also free WiFi, shower gel and a washing machine. We spoke to Maria and Valeria in online communications who were very quick at replying and gave us all the information we needed. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

United KingdomWish there was a kitchen with essentials in there as there's definitely space for it. And wish there was a lift because with luggage it's difficult to take the stairs. The apartment is quite above sea level so you have to walk down loads to the beach and walk all the way up.
Maria was very good at giving instructions on how to arrive because the tiny streets were very confusing. Huge room with living room area. Comfortable beds. Secure parking for €5

HungaryThe equipment was a bit lacking.
We traveled with my family and rented two adjoining apartments. The location of the apartments was very good, close to the beach. The train station was about a 15-minute walk from the accommodation. We were in Sorrento in about 10 minutes by train, and Pompeii was about a 30-minute train ride away. The apartments were clean and spacious, with a huge rooftop terrace. The host, Maria, was very kind and flexible.

United StatesThis place was lovely, we had a beautiful balcony view overlooking parts of the town and water. The AC unit worked well and the place itself was very pretty. The location is very close to a local beach where we went swimming and only a 5 minute walk to the nearest bus stop which was phenomenal to get to Sorrento quickly and easily.

GeorgiaThere is a bell tower right in front of the windows, and it goes off every 30 min or so… Closing the windows doesn’t help much, so you can still hear it. It was not a problem for me cause I was staying in another room, plus I use ear plugs. But my friend that stayed in the main room next to these windows, was not happy about the sound. Another thing about the noise is not enough soundproofing. A baby was crying in another room one night and we could hear it way too much. Also, make sure you ask for the number of the host cause Booking has listed a different number, so you can text her when you arrive to check in on time.
Maria is an amazing host, very attentive, gives you all the tips for a comfortable stay in the area. She’s ready to help whenever you ask for something. She let us in at 10:30am (even though the room wasn’t ready yet) and gave us time to get ready and go, while leaving the bags in the room. The room was super clean and nice, huge rooms with comfy bed and a sofa that folds. You can go to a bus stop in 10 minutes that takes you to Amalfi coast, or Meta train station, which is also around 10 min walk away, to go to Sorrento (or Naples). Got a supermarket 5 min walk away.
