Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Flavia had everything we needed. The room and the corridors were clean. The location was great and safe. It was also 10 mins walk to Barberini square. The staff was amazing, very friendly. We would like to thank specifically to the receptionist who were on a night shift during our stay, he was so helpful. We will go back to Flavia on our next visit to Rome :)

HungaryThe window of our room faced to a dark court. The whole place looked a bit worn-out. The bathroom was a little bit dark, no proper lights.
The breakfast was delicious. There were the basic selection of a continental breakfast (cheese, ham, bread), and also some warm food (bacon, bean, scrambled eggs, boild eggs), yogurt, granola, some sweet pastry, juice, cofee, tea. The bathroom and the shower cabin were quite spacious. Comfortable beds, clean linen and towels, working AC. The Hotel is 10-15 minutes walk from Termini. The staff is polite and helpful.

Excellent location with friendly staff, especially in the breakfast room. Very good location, being close to buses and the Metro (when not on strike). Air conditioning was very much appreciated.

SloveniaThe window (at least in the room I have stayed in) looks in the inside of the building, so it is a bit awkward when heads pop out from other windows and look straight at you. It seems that just lower two floors of the building are hotel rooms, the upper floors are regular apartments; anyway, not something spectacularly disturbing.
Nice location, not that far away from the train station and close to tourists attractions, with plenty of options for dining-in around. The check-in went very smoothly with the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The room was rather small but clean. The bathroom seems to be renovated not that long ago and was very pleasant. The bed (mattress, pillows) was fine. Breakfast was OK, somewhat limited choices but for a couple of days stay was totally fine.
