Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It was very centrally located, 10 minute walk from train station. Staff member who greeted us helped carry bags up the stairs, provided us with cold water and then gave us a local map and pointed out things of interest. Very helpful!

United StatesThe property is very utilitarian. A bit run down and nondescript. The lobby is dark, had tables but no coffee or tea or a reason to even sit there. It was kind of sad looking. Our room could use a fresh paint job and we would have appreciated simple things like having the kettle near an outlet, towel hooks on which to hang our wet towels in the bathroom, and a decent shelf in the bathroom to have a place to put toiletries. A bit of light and decor plus some functional changes would go a long way.
The location is fantastic. Right in the heart of the historic center and walking distance to all major sites, shopping and restaurants.

Staff was helpful they let us in the room before the check in time. They made us coffee while the receptionist was doing the final document collection and copy. I asked for them to organise a taxi for the morning we were going and they did organise all that for me without any problems. The both receptionist were friendly and they always greeted us going out and coming back in. They also asked me if we are ok with everything and were happy to hear our feedback .

CanadaGot eaten alive by mosquitos- do not leave window open. No lift. 2nd floor you climb 2 sets stairs. Very difficult to find place. Need to rely on phone navigation guide. Very noisy, can hear everything outside room and outside building. Room extremely tiny, as family of 4, could not keep our 2 lg luggage open as no room to put, washroom also tiny w no where to hang things. You could literally sit on toilet and wash face/hands in sink or brush teeth at same time. Idk if that's a good or bad thing. 😂
Shower worked v well. Generous supply of towels. The front desk guys very nice and helpful. Excellent location, walking distance to main Florence sights, restos, etc
