Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
Politically sensitive comments
Promotional content
Illegal activities
Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
Spam and fake content
Animal cruelty
Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Nothing at all, everything was perfect.
Our stay was absolutely wonderful! 😍 This is the kind of place you instantly want to return to. Unfortunately, we only had one night here, but it was truly memorable. The staff were exceptional: warm, kind, and genuinely caring, which made us feel very welcome. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, with fresh, flavorful dishes that left a lasting impression. We would gladly come back for a longer stay next time.

I had an absolutely amazing holiday at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the vibe was welcoming, relaxed, and full of positive energy. The atmosphere made it so easy to unwind and enjoy every moment.

I think the restaurant could offer more inclusive, vegetarian-friendly options.
Super beautiful and relaxing setting, rooms furnished with great taste mixing modern comforts with antique pieces. Haven’t tried their restaurant but breakfast was quite rich and tasty. Despite it being in a calm location amidst fields, it is very strategically located in one of the most wonderful regions of Italy, only a few mins drive from very cute towns and villages, the lake, and activities like horse riding.

Gorgeous stay near Montepulciano and Val D’Orcia. Lovely chilled pool, nice restaurant and friendly staff who recommended an evening in Cortona, at La Loggetta, which was one of the highlights of our two week trip in Italy!

Showers need better maintenance for leaking and fixing the placement of handels for shower heads.
No Spa and fitness center

Hotel name on main gate was missing.

Our room had a door of glass mostly, which in theory is nice cause more light can come in, but a bit more privacy won't hurt either.
The place is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature, very well kept. The room was nice, with comfortable beds, nicely decorated, giving a very cosy and homely feeling.
We had lots of little places outside where you could just sit and enjoy the beauty around.
The breakfast was very good, quite a few options to choose from.
The restaurant was also open for dinner, and the food was delicious.

The property is in a beautiful location, very green and close to nature. The rooms and common areas are fully renovated with nice decorations, it has parking and it is not too isolated at all, yet very quiet and far enough from other properties that it makes it quiet. Luca welcomed us warmly, gave us amazing hospitality and very good recommendations of places to see in the area. He was very kind and helpful, he made our stay even nicer. The breakfast was great, lots of options and food was fresh and tasty.

There were a lot of mosquitos in the room. You should know this and be prepared with some sort of repperal.

We had some difficulty finding the place.
The room was clean and spacious. We received a larger room than we initially booked due to the low season, giving us a small living room, a comfortable bedroom, and a big bathroom. The property itself is large, with plenty of greenery, a small pool, and lots of open space.
The food was perfect! Luca is a wonderful chef and an amazing person.

This is my second stay at Equo, and it continues to impress in every way. The staff is impeccable, providing personal and tailored service that goes beyond basic needs. The views are stunning, and the rooms are incredibly comfortable, decorated in a unique style you won't find elsewhere in the area.
The quality, tranquility, and decorations here are unparalleled. The hotel itself is a proper Italian "Borgo," a charming village that captures the essence of Italian hospitality and tradition. Having traveled from Florence, I can confidently say there is nothing else like it in the region.
The location is extremely quiet and remote, offering a perfect retreat, yet it's not too far from the beautiful town of Cortona. This combination of seclusion and accessibility makes it an ideal destination.

• The room was not clean: it was dusty, there were spider webs, and we found several spiders (we had to kill at least four during the night).
• The pool in the morning was dirty and full of pieces of wood and grass, as the gardening was done right next to it (also very noisy).
• The air conditioning in the room did not work properly, so it was uncomfortably hot.
• Finally, the service at reception in the morning was not welcoming.
The location is beautiful, the breakfast was good, the service at diner was nice.

For the price of 260 Euros I had the the room which was extremely small & dark. We felt like we were underground store room or so. In Tuscany, early morning with the bright sun, we had to put on the lights.
