Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOn our first night we went to the restaurant, it was absolutely the worst meal we had in a month in Italy. Some food was served to us still frozen, the service was awful. There was another couple of tables of Italians who arrived after us and were waited on hand and foot, given bread, drinks, their food was out straight away. We arrived at 7, we were finally given still frozen food at 9. We had travelled all day, the children (6 and 7 years old) were starving. It was heartbreaking to be treated like this. In the end we complained, they said we pay nothing which is fortunate because there’s no way we would have paid for any food. They were super apologetic the next day which we were grateful for but at the time I just wanted to cry. There was some young lads with excellent English, they were all friendly especially to the kids. However, there was an older man who worked by the pool, I think he tried to make it intolerable for us to be there. He shushed the children (I am quite capable of shushing my own kids and all they were doing at that particular moment was laughing!) He’s moody, he likes sitting in his little hut and watching stuff on his phone, or chatting to the Italians. He has no tolerance for an English family with children! Also, we took our room towels to the pool every day. The first day I accidentally only bought 2, so gave them to the kids and tried to dry myself off in the sun! Never mind, my fault. But then on the last day I realised he had a whole stash of towels to give out!! Not once did he offer me a towel! Finally, we are easy guests, we aren’t worried about having our room cleaned, we only do it when we need clean towels. One day cleaners took the dirty towels and didn’t replace them. We had to go and ask for towels. The guy on reception said there was a problem with the laundry and found us 2 towels, even though there was 4 of us. It would have been so handy at this point to know there were towels by the pool!!
We experienced some ups and downs at this property, Vico Equense is a cute place with lovely views. It’s easy to go into sorrento for the day. The walk down from town is ok, as long as you have good shoes on. My kids loved the pool, that’s why we booked this hotel. There is a beach nearby but it was very overcrowded and you have to pay for a lounger. The rooms are nice but quite small, there’s nowhere to hang swimming costumes and towels to dry. We were in Italy for a month and we stayed here for 5 nights towards the end of the trip so we had reasonable sized backpacks which made the room feel small straight away. We asked if we could get a balcony and half way through our stay we were able to change rooms which was great, it made a big difference to us. The staff were mostly friendly. The free shuttle to the station is completely invaluable and we used it a lot. When we had problems some of the staff tried hard to resolve them. The breakfast was good, a large selection. Overall we had a great time, we didn’t want to let a few things ruin our trip so we had a very forgiving attitude.

MaltaThe staff at this hotel were always ready to help and offered travel solutions and advice on anything we asked for. Good and varied choice of breakfast and even their own restaurant was very tasty. Hotel is located few metres from the sea front which offers more restuarants, beaches,, ferry quay and a good walk. Their scheduled shuttle to the main bus and train station is an added bonus to the stay. Would recommend Hotel Eden Bleu anytime :)

United StatesThe hotel was by the harbor which was good for ferry service. There were a few nice restaurants at the harbor, which the hotel help secure a reservation for. It was a cab ride into town, but the town cute and people very nice. It was a cab ride to the train, but easy to get trains to other cities.
The staff at the hotel was beyond helpful. They could not do enough to make your stay more enjoyable.

AustraliaWe simply could not fault anything about the property!
The facilities, location and supporting staff were exceptional. Staff in all areas like the front desk, breakfast service and pool / bar areas went above and beyond each day. Another awesome feature was top speed wifi throughout the entire premises no issues with connection at all. Special thanks to the front desk for assisting with transport options on departure.

United KingdomOnly thing I'd advise is to try and get a room with a balcony. This made it a lot easier to dry wet beach towels and bathers. But other than that, I can't fault the hotel. Nothing to do with the hotel, but I wich I'd rented a car. One way in a taxi to the airport was £150. A car was about £140 for the week so it would have been cheaper to get a car and leave it at the hotel. I was put off hiring a car as one review said it was a small windy road down to the hotel. In my opinion, it was windy, but not small, or difficult to drive.
This is a lovely, small, family run hotel. The staff could not have been any more lovely or helpful. We had an issue in our first room and they changed us as soon as they could and did everything possible to make the one night we did stay in there more comfortable. Breakfast is a varied continental breakfast, fairly standard for a European hotel and constantly topped up. They even make individual machine coffees if requested. The pool is lovely and we never met more than one other family there so pretty much had our own space the whole time. There is a hotel shuttle to and from the closest train station which is incredibly helpful. There are set times, but if there were no other people using it, they were incredibly flexible and ran us up and down at times that suited us. The train is super easy to use and goes to all of the coastal towns, Pompei, Herculaneum, Vesuvius and Naples The beach is only a few minutes walk with boat rental and trips to Capri easily accessible. I highly recommend hiring a boat with a skipper to take you around the bays. We loved it so much, we did it twice. There are a lot of restaurants on the waterfront with gorgeous views and delicious food.
