Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesAlthough the neighborhood was perfectly safe, it was quite far from the city center. Even walking to and from the train station, especially with luggage, was a challenge. Fortunately, Marta was able to provide excellent instructions on using the city's public bus system, which made traveling into the town center easier than I had initially expected.
Marta was a phenomenal, kind and generous host. I loved having a spacious, private room with a clean, modern bathroom and shared kitchen available for use. Marta was even thoughtful enough to include complimentary tea, coffee and mini cakes.

BelgiumThe room was single glazed so noise from outside. The mattress was very soft to lie on and creaks a lot when you moved.
From the station it was half an hour on foot or 9 minutes by bus. To get to the center you could take the bus nearby and you were there in 8 minutes. If you want a low-cost stay, this is sufficient. There is a communal kitchen where there is enough to make something small. We arrived late and the host was not there, but she explained very well how the self check in worked. She also asked if everything was going well, so the communication went very smoothly!

NetherlandsIt's the location. The train station is not nearby. You have to take bus. The bus station by the way is very close, one minute walk. Even though from Verona you can go to Venice, Milan, Bologna, and many other places within 90 minutes, this extra step for taking bus makes the whole journey longer.
Everything about the apartment was really great and fantastic. There was a fridge and AC which was really helping during the hot summer days.

BelgiumThere was a lot of noice in the room. Lack of privacy. The bed was not comfortable. The communication with the host was with whatt's app. We needed to share personal documents (identity card) through whatt's app, which is not safe.
The bathroom was spacious. There's a fridge in the room.

PolandThe Room appointed booking as a substitute, Unfortunately, the room was not clean, shared kitchen with other people for 150 eur is a misunderstanding. at the end they asked us for 2 people per night 10 eur extra tax. For me this is a big misunderstanding and a big question for booking.com why such situations happen.
