The hotel was very well-appointed and my room was very inviting and comfortable. The view of the Duomo even on a very rainy day was a bonus. The hotel is perfectly located for seeing the sites and enjoying the restaurants and shops. The breakfast was varied and delicious. I would highly recommend staying at Hotel Duomo.

Our fourth stay over the years…Will always return to Hotel Duomo in Orvieto. Comfort, location, breakfast are all top of the mark. We unloaded luggage right at the front door, and they whisked our car away for overnight parking. When needed, it was again at the door, such convenience.

There was nothing to dislike. My wife and I would commend this hotel unreservedly to anyone visiting Orvieto.

Marvellous location beside Orvieto’s incredible duomo/cathedral. Orvieto is one of the loveliest places in Italy. The room was superb, spacious, comfortable and extremely well decorated and maintained. The artwork was original and added to the atmosphere of the hotel, especially the pictures inspired by Luca Signorelli’s frescoes within the duomo. The balcony facing the duomo was a real treat when we were relaxing in the later evening. The breakfast area was very pleasant indeed, and it made a nice change to have our coffee served fresh.

Limited electrical outlets and flat space in room. Limited flat space in bath, especially for Two travelers. Have to leave key at reception when leaving, which as a veteran European traveler, I understand, but always have had a reservation about if, for instance, reception is not manned when we return from a late dinner Hotel is a considerable walk from funicular and station. We found it preferable, if expensive (€20) to take a taxi for our departure to Rome. This is not a negative, but just a choice we made for our conveniencer.

Once you find it, Hotel Duomo turns out to be a nice, well-appointed hotel in a good central location in Orvieto. 24 hour desk (pleasant, English speaking hotel staff) and a lift. Our room (# 114) was nice and well kept, with a digital safe, which was refreshing after 3 safes with physical keys. The room has a little balcony overlooking a ccourtyard and with a view toward part of the Duomo. Good wifi. Reasonable flat space in room, and kudos for two chairs with back support. Slippers a nice touch. Decent, if small shower with a high step up, which may be risky for the elderly or mobility impaired. Tray for soap in shower. Good English language channel selection. Hotel Duomo is in an ideal location, a few yards from the famous cathedral and with plenty of restaurants near by. The staff were friendly, a nice family run hotel.

The bed was a little hard and the pillows very flat, but that is typical in Italian hotel rooms in my experience. It was just fine.

The room was of an ample size. I was staying alone, but it would have also been very comfortable for a couple. The bathroom was very nice, with an excellent shower. The breakfast was delicious and had a variety of offerings. The staff was quite accommodating of our attempts to speak a little Italian.

The location is perfect, right off the Duomo Piazza with shopping, restaurants, the wells/caves and subterranean tour within easy walking distance. We opened the windows at night, saw the stars and enjoyed the cool breeze. Staff was exceedingly friendly and knowledgeable and the breakfast was delicious!

The room was a little small but for 2 nights it worked just fine. Our room was in a separate building from the main hotel. The bed was comfortable but the room was small.

Location. Orvieto is a beautiful small city and Hotel Duomo is located right at the centre, near the duomo. Streets are very tight for driving. Not for the faint hearted.

No real negatives. - personally I didn’t like the shelf type top on the bed headboard ! Looks good but not practical for sitting up in bed

Hotel Duomo is a charming family run hotel, typically Italian. The staff were very helpful, and a delicious breakfast was served every morning. The hotel is located a stones-throw away from the beautiful Duomo and central to the many shops.

Stayed here with my family before moving on to our wedding venue. A number of our friends stayed at this hotel for the duration of our wedding weekend as well. It’s a fantastic hotel, ideally situated in the center of Orvieto, there is parking, and the staff are very friendly and super helpful. Rooms are charming and very clean, with great coffee.
