Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe room could have been cleaner, although was ok. The room was non-smoking but the corridors wreaked of smoke. Generally the hotel was shabby and tired but it more than served its purpose.
Location was excellent, you could walk everywhere in the city centre. Car parking facilities were excellent as we were able to park behind a closed and locked gate which was important as it is not in the 'nicest' of areas. However the evening atmosphere was good. The room was air conditioned which we really appreciated. The staff were great.

ItalyThe structure is old and maybe a little bit overpriced for what it offers.
Small and basic hotel in a lively and ethnic district with several bars and restaurants a few minutes on foot north of Turin Cathedral and Royal Palace.

SwedenLighting in the room was slightly off and there was a very loud garage door which kept closing and opening throughout the night.
Location was good, quite close to several restaurants, the city center and shops.

AlbaniaThe room has all the essentials,it was clean and the beds were comfy. We liked the area where the hotel was located because it was full of bars and tiny shops ,but for some people that might not be preferable . In general we had a pleasant stay and the guys at the reception were very friendly.

ItalyIn Room 7, the bidet is too close to toilet, making it difficult for long-legged guests. Shower doors difficult to use. A few stray hairs from the housekeepers, otherwise quite clean.
Good value for one star hotel, in a funky, eclectic neighborhood. Comfy mattress. Friendly staff. Clean. Fresh towels each day. Great cafes, wine bars and restaurants nearby (Antico Borgo Caffe, Al Jazira, etc) and just a few minutes from Mercado Centrale.

United KingdomThe location is great being close to the city center, but there are some scammers trying to make money for free parking. If you dont pay them then they will most likely damage your car. Fortunately the hotel staff allowed me to park in a secure area behind a gate, but be careful where you leave your car.
Staff were super friendly. They gave me a cake for new years celebrations, and opened up the backyard secure parking as the free parking was dodgy.

adorable lace curtains and touches of character throughout, very comfortable and homey. friendly and attentive service. a ways from the station and touristy spots with tram nearby. let me check in early and leave my bags until evening after check out :)

LithuaniaThere was no kettle/fridge/drinking water. The room itself looks tired and quite old. The owners don't speak English. At night it was very noisy, a large company was having fun outside the window, but it was very audible in the room.

United KingdomThere was no iron or hairdryer, the hotel says free toiletries but this is small sachets of shower gel. No shampoo etc. I purchased additional things from the shop close by. Hotel has a 1am curfew so I was always aware of times to make sure I was back before then. When leaving, the hotel keep your room key so you need to buzz for entry and wait for your key when you return.
Location was good, close enough to walk to the city centre and has places to eat, drink and get some things for room (water etc). Staff were friendly and rooms were clean to a decent standard. Most things close close by on Mondays so it’s very quiet, they also have siesta type breaks from around 2pm until around 4pm on other days.

GermanyAs it is an old building, unfortunately noise from the outside can be heard and woke up me up early in the morning once or twice. Breakfast is packaged pastries so I'd suggest to get something to eat elsewhere.
The owners were lovely and made me feel very welcome. The room is basic but has everything you'd need if you're in town to sightsee. The city center is reachable by foot or bus/tram. The flea market on the surrounding streets on Saturday made the area and its cafés and restaurants very lively.

ItalyThe spaces are little and a bit old style. The district is traditional, with beautiful buildings, but in the surroundings you can meet "strange people"
The owners: super kind, super sweet, super helpful, super familiar: 10 stars! It's a traditional, little cosy hotel, managed by 2 old persons. The structure is a bit old style, but very clean, just in front of Scuola Holden and Arsenale, in a street full of antique shops and nice bistrots with good food and cheap prices. 20 min on foot from the center.

United KingdomThere was a frosted window near the top of the wall between the neighbouring rooms so you could hear their phone ringing (and of course othe stuff).
handy location. Basic but clean & reasonable size room on ground floor. Plenty of restaurants & cafes etc in the area. On a Sunday there's a street market in the road. If you have any queries you need to speak to the younger staff as the old lady doesn't speak any English at all.
