Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceEverything was great. Really nothing bad to add, we had 4 great nights in this amazing apartment.
The place was an entire apartment. The first thing you see when you enter is the living room with a big black couch and a TV. This is the center of the apartment which unites the other 4 rooms. On the right there are two living rooms, one bigger with a double bed and one smaller with a single bed. On the left there is the kitchen fully equipped and the bathroom. The bathroom is fully equipped and there is also a hydro-massage which was TOP after a tiring day full of walking in Venice. There are two air-conditioners, one in the kitchen and one in the big bedroom. The house is lovely decorated with modern lights and painting all around. Τhere was no sign of moisture, mold or insects. The door is really heavy and of high security. The neighborhood was really safe and quiet, away from city center and next to the university, so it was a neighborhood full of students. The building is a palazzo from 1900s and one of the newest in Venice. The apartment is renovated and ready to host a whole family in daily bases. The hostess, Angela, was really helpful and ready to discuss all the matters. She also showed up to give us the keys and show us around the apartment on our arrival, she provided us some touristic tips as well. An overall great experience in a fair price.

Domus Dea is in a lovely quiet part of Venice with beautiful canals and architecture all around. It is an ideal spot to get away from the crowds but still be close to all the sights. The apartment is clean, spacious and comfortable and furnished with everything you need for an enjoyable stay.

AustraliaBeautiful apartment, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. A great location. Our host met us at the property with the keys and explained all the features of the apartment. There were delicious and non expensive food opportunities nearby. Dosoduro is a quiet location, so we had a relaxing stay away from the crowds. We loved 🥰 it.

United KingdomNot much to say really - a shower caddy would be nice, and it's a bit more of a trek from a vaporetto stop than other places I've stayed. But those are tiny things, and I'd happily stay here again.
Lovely location in a relatively non-touristy part of the city; apartment had everything we needed and was very clean.

United KingdomNothing.
The apartment was immaculately clean and well appointed. You could cook easily; there were medical and sanitary supplies; many food items/tea/coffee were included. It’s in a very quiet part of the city which is preferable to the crowded tourist centre. There are bars and shops close by. Angela was incredibly helpful and hospitable, especially when a transport strike meant we were stuck in Venice for a night longer than we expected. She had even bought balloons for our small daughter. If we come to Venice again we would stay here again without hesitation.

Everything was wonderful. We loved the neighbourhood with lovely views, bars and restaurants nearby but also quiet and not too touristy. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean, with everything we needed. Check-in and check-out was smooth, and all communication with Angela was excellent. Thank you for the welcome biscuits, the helpful directions, and for a wonderful stay!

A great place to stay. We stayed for three nights, but longer would have been fine as it is a really spacious and well equipped apartment. The kitchen has everything you will be used to at home, even a dishwasher. Some really nice items were included to make breakfast and drinks. The place isn't central but the main island isn't that big anyway. The main square is walkable, however on the southern part of the island there is a nearby San Basillo waterbus stop. It only has one bridge with steps if you have luggage. It is a really nice locals area with a great vibe (students milling about also). A couple of nice bars/eateries really close by. Slightly further away is the Zattere water front with great eateries. Nico for ice cream. Inland check out a square called Campo Santo Margherita. Loads going on there plus a decent supermarket (Conad). Both are probably about a 10 minute walk away, but the great thing about walking anywhere in Venice is it is always stunning. In every direction, walking around is possibly the best bit. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

United KingdomI have no complaints about the apartment at all.
We travel a lot, but for the first time we lived in such a wonderful apartment on a trip. The apartment is not only beautiful, large and comfortable, but everything is provided for travelers. The kitchen has everything you need: dishwasher, coffee, olive oil, salt, spices, sugar (you don't need to buy all this yourself for a few days), and Angela, a wonderful hostess, put jam and butter for the first breakfast. The bathroom has it all: shower, bidet, washing machine, Jacuzzi with a selection of salt (where you can relax after a Venetian day walks), and even cosmetics to cleanse your skin. And what beautiful chandeliers and furniture in this apartment! You will want to quickly remove your suitcases from a prominent place so that they do not spoil this beauty. All equipment is in working condition. I highly recommend this apartment!

United KingdomIt was all perfect. We knew it was a little way from the main attractions and that suited us perfectly. The area was quiet so if you are looking for hectic night life (which we weren't!) then you'd be disappointed.
The apartment is excellent with lots of facilities. We choose a location which was a little way from the main attractions and that worked brilliantly. There are plenty of local shops and restaurants and not too many tourists. Would definitely stay again. A++

IrelandNothing! It was perfect for us.
Location is exceptional. 5 minutes from bus station, and 5 minutes walk from Vaparetto stop. We also loved the Prix supermarket just around the corner. The photos do not do justice to the magnificent apartment. We used second bedroom, and slept so well! We also really enjoyed the jacuzzi bath after our days walking in the city. The heating was on timer, and so, so, cosy every morning and evening. We really appreciated being allowed leave our luggage after check out, to explore city further.

CanadaThe laundry was under repair and we were not notified before hand. The garbage requirements were not communicated - you must put it out at 8:40 am each day by hand. As well as a party on the block that was very loud into the night (not the property fault), but would have appreciated explanation of use of shutters.
Great location, close to a coffee shop, authentic.

The apartment is beautiful, it has been done really well. Angela has thought of every little detail. She has put extra little bits from toothpaste to DVDs to watch. Everything was spotlessly clean and mad up perfectly. Angela was there to greet us, explained everything and let us in early. She also let us stay a little later as she didn't have any arrivals the following day. She was available on the phone if we needed anything. There was also WiFi and some small food bits to get you started. It is located just outside the busy centre meaning that it is peaceful and quiet and doesnt take long to get to the centre by foot. Everything was great, I will be back. Thanks Angela 😊.

FranceNothing at all! Perfect
My partner and I simply loved this place. We are frequent travelers and have stayed in numerous Hotels and appartements all over the world, and this one stands out. it was super clean, fully equipped with everything you might need, the host is very friendly and helpful. The location is nice as it is a little secluded from the main tourist attractions which gives you a nice taste of a calm local neighborhood while remaining easily accessible from all the main attractions of the city (practically everything within 20 to 35 mins range walking or by public transportation. We will definitely be looking forward to stay here again and highly recommend it above any 4 star hotel in Venice!

United StatesWe had trouble with the washing machine, which required a certain “jiggle” to unlock. The dryer wasn’t working so we had clothes hanging all over the place. This could be easily remedied by adding a clothes line; we would have enjoyed that, actually, as hanging laundry outside is part of every day life in Venice. Talk about authentic! We also found the American-style coffee pot did not brew well so we had to heat our brewed coffee in the microwave. Again, not a big problem for us and an easy fix.
If you would like an authentic “live like a local” experience in Venice, this is the place for you! Located in the Dorsoduro neighborhood, you will be surrounded by university students and local cafes, pizza shops, bakeries and markets. The apartment is tucked back on a quiet alley, yet right around the corner from a canal. Very picturesque and charming. Domus Dea is plenty spacious with great storage and fairly well-equipped kitchen. There is excellent light, because the windows are HUGE. We loved opening and closing the shutters every day! The property was immaculate and renovated so up-to-date, while keeping the original gorgeous marble floor and Murano glass chandeliers.
