Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CroatiaWe arrived at mindnight in our room, AC was on with open window and only 21°C, it was very cold. Also the night we checked in, man from the reception called us in the middle of the night (1:25am to be precise) to check how many of us is in the room?? We were sleeping, it scared us a lot! Also, we reserved two seperated beds and got one family bed. Receptionist didn't give us paper with the instructions and pass codes so we were asking him to give it to us. When leaving the room, you have to leave the keys on the reception which I think should be comunicated before reservations on Booking, because that is the one thing is huge minus for me. I don't like the idea of someone entering room full of my stuffs while I'm away. And when you are coming back to hotel no one is checking who are you or at which room are you staying. That way someone could easly came from the streets and get in any room in the hotel. Huge minus for security.
I like that second day lady at the reception asked us if we wanted for the to clean up our room, think this should be asked everyday or at least tell to the guests when they are leaving keys at the reception that cleaning lady will come to the room in case (in case someone left their personal things available) Liked the location, it is really great placed

United StatesI was very disconcerted when I found out they did not have wash clothes or smaller sized hand towels that could sub for washcloths. I was sad there were no English speaking channels on the TV. Maybe just one ? Spoiled American here.
I didn't have breakfast here but I was grateful they had a selection of bottled water on site for purchase so I didn't have to leave the hotel to find water.

United StatesLocation--- walk to Spanish Steps is like 5 minutes, to Trevi fountain about 10 mins. It was about 30 min walk from Termini station, but I'm a walker and was fine with that. Great value for the price.

SerbiaIt may be a bit noisy in the evening although the street looks quiet. In that case close the windows and shutters. We did not like the pre-set A/C temperature and the remote control is not available. You need to ask the staff to change the room temperature.
Fantastic location close to the Spanish steps and other attractions. The room is spacious as well as the bathroom and with lots of space for clothes. The staff is very helpful and kind, always willing to help and give good advice on transport and restaurants.

SwitzerlandThe bed had an annoying creak that made dozing off quite a challenge. Also the bathroom needs updating urgently. The hotel needs a bit of TLC
Location is splendid, right in the mix close to the Spanish steps in a quite quiet street. Room (4) was large and spacious. Restaurants and attractions easily reachable by foot.

United StatesThe shower could be a bit larger (small corner shower). But of course, you have to work with the space available, and with that in mind, it's no big deal.
The location is great - close to many attractions and restaurants/cafés. The room was quite and clean; there was even access to a shared balcony. The front desk/door situation works well - someone always manned the front desk, taking your room key while you are out, and giving it back when you return.

CanadaGreat location, Friendly day staff. Good bang for your buck (if you want to save some money) But unfortunately, there is absolutely no sound insonorisation ( and I was on low season traffic). I was on the third floor and I could hear, very clearly, my neighbor intensely snore ( which was brutal) and on the last night a couple with a baby arrived and the baby did not stop crying for 1.5 hours. I could hear their full conversation as well. BUT, if you bring earplugs, you're golden.
The front weekday staff was very friendly. WIFI was not working from the room. Went to the front desk and the person was able to help me get connected without being annoyed!

BulgariaLarger beds would be more comfortable, but it's not bad as it is either.
The hotel is in the heart of Rome, you can reach everything on foot. The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. The room was bigger than I expected. It's not fancy, but just enough space to put your luggage and rest. The beds were very small, but turned out to be comfortable enough. The bathroom is very small, too, but it's enough to do the job. It was very clean. And really good value for money.
