I would suggest to add a little shelf near the beds to put some personal stuff, especially in the top beds.

It's a very welcoming place to stay in La Spezia. Very well located to visit cinque terre. The staff and facilities are great, and they also provide some free food and water. I highly recommend this hostel.

The price was a little high for me, but you get what you pay for. Great stay for anyway traveling.

Location, facilities, comfort, cleanliness were all excellent. The staff regularly makes pesto, and offers snacks, and tea 24/7. The staff were eager to provide travel tips and suggestions to Cinque Terre and around La Spezia as well.

it was a very friendly and welcoming stay for a solo traveller, the staff were all happy to help with anything and were full of great recommendations and tips to explore the area. pasta night on the terrace gave it a home like feeling which was really nice :)

Nothing - there are only 3 bathrooms/showers, could be more but wasn’t an issue at all!

Costello property and staff were all extremely welcoming and helpful in providing suggestions for activities, places to visit nearby or restaurants. Hostel was extremely clean. I had an incredible time, the hostel made it very easy to meet and get to know other travellers which created a great ambiance. Incredible for solo travellers! Can’t wait to come back and visit.

There’s only 3 cubicles in the bathroom with a toilet and shower in each so sometimes you will need to wait in line for your turn so factor this into your getting ready time!!

This was the cutest hostel I’ve ever stayed in! Nice and small with a real cozy feel. The staff were all so lovely and helpful and generous (free breakfast and coffee and other food in the kitchen at all times!!!). The storage under the beds was enormous I could put my whole bag into it and lock it away!

The best youth hotel I ever stayed! The room is designed in such a way that you don’t hear much noise when your roommates are moving around. This is not usually paid enough attention for other youth hotel I have stayed. Every staff is very helpful! There are several organized events during my stay there. You could also get a password lock for free. They offer some free options of breakfast as well! Shampoo and gel are also available!

The most authentic and vibey hostel I've stayed at. From family dinners twice a week to free breakfast/dinner ingredients, a fully functioning kitchen, hangout/relax spaces, bringing people together and sharing local advice - the owners and team running this hostel are working magic here! Super easy to visit Cinque Terre, as well as some lovely towns/beaches in and around La Spezia. This hostel attracts other like minded travellers, here to hike, explore, swim. Definitely not a party hostel, everyone is in bed before 11pm and most wake up early to seize the day. Female travellers, would recommend staying in the 8-bed female dorm, which has lockers under the bed (so much easier than standing lockers and having to zip your pack up every time). This room also had normal bunks, whereas the larger female dorm had 3 stack bunks which can be a lot of if you're unlucky on the very bottom or top. Shared bathrooms weren't a problem, the bathrooms are a decent size and far better than most hostel bathrooms I've experienced.

One of the best hostels I stayed in during my 6 week Italy trip. Very helpful staff who provide the best way to see La Spezia and Cinque Terre! It's nice and clean, large bathroom facilities, great cooking space, outdoor area and more. I met some fantastic people during my stay. Would highly recommend!

Everyone is out and about… La Spezia/Cinque Terre/etc… so you won’t necessarily meet new people.

The staff is absolutely wonderful… going above and beyond! They make you feel at home, and it really is an excellent hostel experience. Highly recommended!

The beds creaked a lot, which made it a bit noisy whenever you'd want to move at night. Also it might be best to have the safes outside the rooms, as it would allow for guests to get their stuff out without disturbing others.

I liked the amenities and the overall comfort of the property. It felt clean and safe, and it had lots of common areas to relax in. There were also safes (though easily cracked, I must say) for guests. The free items and food (namely for breakfast) and the numerous local tips were a plus!

Amazing hostel to base my visit to Cinque Terre. First of all, the staff were all amazing!! Very friendly and super helpful. The hostel is set up more like visiting your family’s home where you feel so welcome! There’s free pasta and cereal in the kitchen, and the staff being in different treats everyday. The beds are comfy, rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are roomy and clean. The hostel is conveniently located 1 block away from the bus stop including one that takes you to Pontovenere (highly recommended), and only 10 min walk to the train station and the ferry (whichever way you want to visit Cinque Terre). If you want to get away from all the crowds, ask the staff about the hike from Riomaggiore to pontovenere—it’s moderately difficult but the views are so worth it! They have so many offers like cooking classes for pesto which is what the area is known for, and the staff know all the great tours and swimming places. They even have a family dinner on Sunday nights that’s free for everyone
