2. Upon receiving the feedback to change our reservation to a double room due to dogs, we looked at the photos and the rooms presented there were all bright, had windows, and the description said the room is with a view. We were also informed that they "will give us a nice room" and "we and our dogs will not be disappointed". So based on that inormation, we booked a double room. Upon arrival, we were given a room on the ground floor, (cellar type, see the photo) with no normal windows, no AC. Pretty humid, dump place with no views whatsoever. If you travel with dogs, bear in mind that you will get the worst accommodation on the property which is really a shame. One can survive this room while being slightly comfortable for one night, tops. 3. We booked a dinner for two nights in a row. The main coursers were really tasty, the meals were served by a friendly staff in a beautiful dining area. However, for two days in a row a dessert was just a chocolate mousse. Nothing insightful given that there are several photos on booking suggesting that the place offers delicious and nicely presentable tarts and other cakes - abandon all expectations, you will not get it here. 4. Breakfast - below average and disappointing really. A very small variety of pastries/diary. Eggs and bacon looked totally inedible, ugh. The coffee was very good though!

Beautifully restored building, full of history with great views from the garden. Great hot tub and a heated pool. The place could easily deserve a 10 but we cannot rate it that high due to the following reasons: (we had to put some negatives in the positive section, due to booking space limitations) 1. We stayed for 2 nights and traveled with two small dogs. Initially, we booked a suite but were informed that dogs are not allowed in it and we can either change our reservation by booking a double room or leave the dogs at home. Prior to changing our booking we asked if the dogs are allowed everywhere on the property (e.g. next to swimming pool / in restaurant). We received a feedback that they „allow dogs everywhere except in the suite and single bedrooms”. We also got an oral confirmation during check-in that dogs were, indeed, allowed everywhere. On the first day we enjoyed the swimming pool area with the dogs and everything was fine (we are responsible people, the dogs were on a leash, they were not running wild). However, on the second day in the afternoon, out of the blue the owner pointed out that the dogs cannot be in the swimming pool area and they are only allowed in the garden. This was completely contradictory to the previous communication we have had. Had we been informed that dogs were not allowed everywhere, we wouldn’t have booked in the first place. We pointed it out and after some discussion, the owner „allowed” our dogs to stay in the pool area. Nevertheless, it has spoiled our mood and left a bad taste in our mouth until we checked out. The owner apologized for this „misunderstanding” during the dinner and offered a complimentary bottle of wine. Nice gesture, yet too little, too late.

As I was staying outwith the main tourist season it was very quiet and the only option for dinner was to go to a restaurant in the town. Travelling on my own that wasn't very appealing.

Quirky hotel- former convent. Room was spacious and warm. Lovely views around the surrounding area. Breakfast good.

There was absolutely nothing we didn’t like. We were overwhelmed in a very positive way.

This property was gorgeous with amazing historic value. The rooms and view were beautiful. The food was incredible. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, even taking us on an amazing tour of the property and explaining the historic significance. Definitely not to be missed!
