Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UzbekistanNot enough electric plugs and some of them do not work. The bathroom and the room itself need renovation. TV is too small and they can even remove it. You have to make bed yourself and blankets are not of good quality
Very nice night-time receptionist/securty guard. Helpful and welcoming.

It was a good location for the train station so caring trains into the heart of Venice was very easy and cheap. (Make sure you buy train tickets)

GermanyIt was ok but not like a 3-star hotel. The shower cabin was too small. It was next to the street and you can hear the trams, buses keep going, cars honking. If you are staying for 1-2 nights, it shouldn't be a problem but for longer stays it might be uncomfortable.
Ver good location, 5 mins walk from the Mestre train station. Cheaper than the average prices in the neighborhood.

MexicoUnfortunately the room is ridiculous small, the bathroom is not comfortable because it is very very small (VERY). The receptionist staff were not really kind. Also, the air conditioning was not working and the room was really hot, we didn’t asked for help because of the non-kind receptionist.
Breakfast was so good, it is an amazing option. Location was also very good, train station is very very close. The attention of the restaurant staff was so kind and good, thank you!

MaltaShort before coming to Venice, we went to check again the hotel, location etc, and came across all the reviews - they freaked us out… the first time ever we regretted booking something and literally got scared to stay there. In fact, we tried negotiating to cancel for free but they refused so we said ok, let’s go and if it is really that terrible, we are gonna leave and find something else. Happy to say that our stay was wonderful :) When checking reviews, we were sure that 7s and 8s in scoring are given by hotel staff or fake accounts lol but here we are, leaving a 7. So, giving my feedback based on things we were scared about due to existing reviews: Room size: yes, rooms are quite small. But they are totally large enough to feel comfortable for a short stay. Cleanness: I saw lots of comments on this but our room and bathroom were absolutely clean, and no bugs, insects or bed bugs. Sheets were changed daily and were clean and soft. Breakfast: yes, there are not as many options as in a 5 star hotel but they had everything you need in reality - eggs, cheese, ham, bread, yogurts, cereals, juices, coffee and the best fresh croissants!!!! (I had 4 during one of the breakfasts lol) Btw the breakfast is now served in the same hotel, downstairs! Staff: suuuper friendly!! Especially the lady serving breakfast!! Going extra mile for us :) Noise: yes, walls are thin. Maybe as it is not the season yet, we did not hear noises from people. The only thing is that we could always hear water running through the pipes, however, it did not in any way bother our sleep! Location: unbeatable. We saw people saying about the terrifying tunnel with drug addicts so what we did, not to test our luck, we took a bus from Mestre to the hotel which meant not going through the tunnel at all. Also, the bus to Venice is only 1-2 min away from the hotel, across the road. If staying on the 4th floor, you get a nice city view from the windows!! Overall, for this price, it is great!

ItalyWe booked triple economy rooms, which are very small. Air conditioner is not working fine, not good for ventilation, and gives a noise early morning while sleeping. Toilets are also very small and issue with the flush system.
The hotel is near to the train station, hardly 5 minutes by walk. Rooms are cleaned.

CanadaCheck in seriously isn’t till 3pm. The doors are locked till then so they won’t take your bags or let you come in before then. The room was super tiny, Curtains had stains on them, table was about to break, safe was broken, AC didn’t work.
It was basically just a bed to sleep on for the night. The downstairs is the best looking.

United KingdomI needed to use the lift to access my room as I use a mobility aid, however the lift is very small and is not accessible to those in wheelchairs, people with large/multiple bags, and others - it is functional though. The room was okay although a lot of things within were not overly functional. The room contained a small desk which was too small to really be useful and was very unstable when it was used. The shelf in the bathroom sits at an angle also so you can't put much on it without it falling off. The hand-held bidet in the bathroom didn't work and was broken, and lots of the plastic casings on plug sockets and the likes had a tendency to fall off. The room was cleaned when unoccupied, but there were still lots of ants in my room every day. There is also no water fountain, coffee making facilities (besides at breakfast) or vending machine or anything similar in the hotel so there is nowhere to fill up a bottle, get a refreshment, or have coffee, besides small bathroom sinks or walking to an establishment and asking them.
The property is very well located - there is a bus stop just up the street where you can catch the bus to Venice, there is a tram stop close by, and it's near to the train station. It is also close to a pharmacy and a couple of food places. The bed was comfortable and staff provided an extra pillow when I requested one. I appreciated having AC in the room as it was very hot during my stay. The breakfast was also decent enough.
