tHE HOTEL IS IDEALLY SITUATED AND WITHIN EASY WALKING DISTANCE OF THE OLD TOWN. PARKING WAS VERY EASY, AND THE STAFF VERY ACCOMODATING.

I don't know if the walls were thin or what but we heard EVERYTHING in the hallway and rooms near us. You would need to bring something for ambient noise to thoroughly enjoy your stay here. It was a nice room but too much outside noise. We were not near a stairwell or elevator either.

While there was a lift to the upper floors, there were still stairs to negotiate, which we unfortunately weren’t told about when we asked at the front desk during check in. Breakfast buffet was average compared to some of the other similarly priced hotels we had stayed at on this trip.

Carpets in the rooms needed to be replaced. They were worn out and stained. Rooms could have used a fresh coat of paint. In one of our rooms the safe didn't work but we just used the other one. But you couldn't beat the location!!! Close to everything.

Breakfast was wonderful and staff was very nice and always efficient. Cleaned up tables and always there when our coffee cups needed to be refilled! My mother was in a wheelchair and needed to use a wheelchair ramp at the back entrance. Staff was always there helping us out!!

We were very pleased with our choice of accommodation in Modena. Maybe I had lower expectations because of some comments I had seen about the worn condition of the property but, apart from the carpet having seen better days, our room was fine, as were the general areas. We had however opted for a suite, maybe partly influenced by the comments. The shutters and aircon kept us cool, we didn't get noise from the street and there was always hot water. The hotel is very well located in the old town of Modena, near a street of bars, just a few minutes walk to the market and main square and an easy stroll to many restaurants. The railway station and Enzo Ferrari museum are 20 minutes away. Breakfast was always well stocked and a wide selection. We could only eat in the garden on the first day but the inside area was fine. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. We opted for the hotel's valet parking and, despite a charge of 20 Euros per day, were happy with this decision, we would not have wanted to try and find a place on the streets each time we returned. Overall, we enjoyed everything about our stay.

- A member of staff entered the room while my partner was inside in underwear (this was in the middle of the afternoon after the room had been cleaned). This was highly inappropriate and staff should be better trained for things like this. - Someone called our room at 2am. When we asked reception the next day they said that any guest could call any of the rooms and they were not responsible. While this might be true, they should think about reviewing this policy as this was unacceptable. - our room had a window that was opening onto the balcony of the room next door. Huge lack of privacy as it means we could never have the curtains open to get some light. - We were unable to turn off or change the AC settings - No kettle (or tea or coffee) available in the room. We asked for one but we never got it. - The carpet was old and dirty. They should replace it as it looks very unappealing - They did not have shampoo and conditioner.

- The location is perfect! - They had body lotion - which was nice. - The bed was large - breakfast had gluten free options (but no lactose free yogurt/milk)

The hotel rooms are a little older but it is priced accordingly. Staff were very helpful and assisted us to order taxis (which arrived very quickly). Quiet location but easy walking distance into the centre of the town. Breakfast was very good, with a selection of gluten free items available.

The wifi is weak inside the room so requires you to keep coming close to the door.

Very helpful and friendly staff. They accommodated our request for a very early check in when our international flight schedules got changed. They promptly took care of small requests during our stay. The breakfast spread is excellent and so are the staff attending to them.

Room was nothing special, very small, but fine for our one night stay. No shower curtain or partition of any kind, so needless to say, water sprayed all over the bathroom floor. It’s an old palazzo (which we loved), but is in need of some refreshing. (Carpets, paint, etc.)

Someone entered our room late at night. Luckily my partner was still awake at thus stage, I was sleeping. The guy did apologise and left, when we reported the incident to reception the following morning we were told it was a mistake by a member of staff as they thought the room was empty. This left me feeling a bit uncomfortable the remainder of my stay, as was no safety chain on the door just a key to lock the door.

The location was excellent the staff were lovely and very helpful. The hotel had loads of character.

Rooms were old. A/C could not keep up with August heat. Previous occupants hair in several places of bathroom. Broken screen at bathtub shower.

Great people work there. Safe location. Nice decor of lobby and grounds. Generous breakfast included. They will park your car for you.
