Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelWe spent 4 nights at Mangia's Brucoli Resort for a family vacation, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The resort is situated on a beautiful stretch of coastal terrain, steeply sloping all the way down to the sea, which provides stunning views and easy access to the water. The gardens and lawns are meticulously maintained, adding to the resort’s charm and serene atmosphere. Our family stayed in four standard rooms, which were comfortable and equipped with coffee machines and mini-refrigerators. The facilities at the resort, including the swimming pools, were excellent—perfect for both adults and children. There is also a small, rocky beach onsite, and I’d recommend bringing water shoes to make the experience more enjoyable. The hotel offers several dining options, and the food was consistently delicious. However, the service in some of the restaurants was noticeably slow, which was a bit disappointing for a resort of this caliber. Additionally, the hotel administration could be more efficient; we encountered a few minor organizational hiccups that one wouldn’t expect from a 5-star establishment. A highlight of our stay was the nearby village of Brucoli, just a short distance from the resort. It has several great dining spots, but Pizzicotto da Napoli—a family-run, affordable trattoria—deserves special mention for its fantastic food and warm hospitality. In summary, Mangia’s Brucoli Resort offers a relaxing coastal getaway with lovely scenery, great amenities, and easy access to local charm. While there’s room for improvement in service, it’s still a wonderful destination for families looking to unwind and explore.

United StatesSee above There should have been more lighting on pathways and stairways as many times in the evening it was hard to navigate. Also, more signage would’ve helped. Pointed to the different areas.
There was a variety of foods at breakfast. Selections to choose from. Staff was very pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. Always greeted us with a smile on the front desk to the luggage handlers. The location was extraordinary. However I think they can use more staff, as some of the tables were not cleaned and at the omelette station the cook just trying to manage many different things. Our experience at the grill was not a pleasant one. We went there earlier in the day, knowing that they didn’t take reservations, and we’re guaranteed that they would set a table aside for us. However, when we got there, there was no table and we had to wait an hour to be seated. Again, I felt as if they were shortstaffed. There were also areas of the resort that could have been a little cleaner, the steps leading to the rooms. There were many bugs in the area and some in room.

SwitzerlandHowever, while the staff is friendly, there are clear issues with management and communication. Several problems during our stay went unresolved until we spoke directly with the manager, which then led to improvements.
The hotel is located in a stunning setting, offering modern, comfortable facilities. The pool is excellent, and the restaurants provide a good dining experience.

Irelandthe Location of the resort is remote, so ensure you have transport arranged so you can explore ( if this is what you want). while the staff are friendly and service is excellent in most cases, we did witness a gap in sevice at the bar area on a number of occasions where it could be improved for a 5 star resort - sometimes at the bar area being left for 10-15 minutes to get an order placed. once placed, service was quick enough.
the size of the resort was excellent, big, spacious but not overcrowded. the staff were incredibly friendly and the range of cocktails were excellent and tasty. food options were also good with 4-5 restaurants available with 1-2 closed depending on day. Pizza's were particularly good. Breakfast was excellent with a huge range to choose from, with Barista available and non dairy options.

United KingdomSome of the staff were absolutely incredible whilst others weren’t that fussed so it felt inconsistent. The restaurants are quite expensive for what you get. And it’s a little tricky to get the information you need - you really need to ask!
The hotel is comfortable and in a beautiful location. It’s a great place for a relaxing stay. The grill restaurant was the best by far of all the restaurants.

Hong KongThe room was constantly dirty and the staff were slow to respond to requests. It's a shame the service was unreliable as everyone was friendly, albeit not at the standard you would expect from this type of resort.
The location is beautiful, with views of the sea and Mt Etna. There are lots of activities available and it's only a short walk to Brucoli, which is a charming town.
