    Great Sea Resort!
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Standard King Room
    • Stayed 4 nights

We spent 4 nights at Mangia's Brucoli Resort for a family vacation, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The resort is situated on a beautiful stretch of coastal terrain, steeply sloping all the way down to the sea, which provides stunning views and easy access to the water. The gardens and lawns are meticulously maintained, adding to the resort’s charm and serene atmosphere. Our family stayed in four standard rooms, which were comfortable and equipped with coffee machines and mini-refrigerators. The facilities at the resort, including the swimming pools, were excellent—perfect for both adults and children. There is also a small, rocky beach onsite, and I’d recommend bringing water shoes to make the experience more enjoyable. The hotel offers several dining options, and the food was consistently delicious. However, the service in some of the restaurants was noticeably slow, which was a bit disappointing for a resort of this caliber. Additionally, the hotel administration could be more efficient; we encountered a few minor organizational hiccups that one wouldn’t expect from a 5-star establishment. A highlight of our stay was the nearby village of Brucoli, just a short distance from the resort. It has several great dining spots, but Pizzicotto da Napoli—a family-run, affordable trattoria—deserves special mention for its fantastic food and warm hospitality. In summary, Mangia’s Brucoli Resort offers a relaxing coastal getaway with lovely scenery, great amenities, and easy access to local charm. While there’s room for improvement in service, it’s still a wonderful destination for families looking to unwind and explore.

See above There should have been more lighting on pathways and stairways as many times in the evening it was hard to navigate. Also, more signage would’ve helped. Pointed to the different areas.

There was a variety of foods at breakfast. Selections to choose from. Staff was very pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. Always greeted us with a smile on the front desk to the luggage handlers. The location was extraordinary. However I think they can use more staff, as some of the tables were not cleaned and at the omelette station the cook just trying to manage many different things. Our experience at the grill was not a pleasant one. We went there earlier in the day, knowing that they didn’t take reservations, and we’re guaranteed that they would set a table aside for us. However, when we got there, there was no table and we had to wait an hour to be seated. Again, I felt as if they were shortstaffed. There were also areas of the resort that could have been a little cleaner, the steps leading to the rooms. There were many bugs in the area and some in room.

A car is a must. Entertainment in the evening can be a bit staid. Also as a no cash site the payment mechanism for food and drinks at the pool restaurant can be slow. no baked beans at breakfast.

The room needs more light. I suggest a lamp or a pin light be added. Concerning cleanliness and our bathroom needs more water pressure

the Location of the resort is remote, so ensure you have transport arranged so you can explore ( if this is what you want). while the staff are friendly and service is excellent in most cases, we did witness a gap in sevice at the bar area on a number of occasions where it could be improved for a 5 star resort - sometimes at the bar area being left for 10-15 minutes to get an order placed. once placed, service was quick enough.

the size of the resort was excellent, big, spacious but not overcrowded. the staff were incredibly friendly and the range of cocktails were excellent and tasty. food options were also good with 4-5 restaurants available with 1-2 closed depending on day. Pizza's were particularly good. Breakfast was excellent with a huge range to choose from, with Barista available and non dairy options.

The check in time time is unusually late 4pm and we didn’t actually get booked in until 5.15.

We were upgraded to a room with a pool so that was great. Pool area really nice though would be more comfortable if there were cushions on the sun beds. Restaurants great.

Some of the staff were absolutely incredible whilst others weren’t that fussed so it felt inconsistent. The restaurants are quite expensive for what you get. And it’s a little tricky to get the information you need - you really need to ask!

The room was constantly dirty and the staff were slow to respond to requests. It's a shame the service was unreliable as everyone was friendly, albeit not at the standard you would expect from this type of resort.

The location is beautiful, with views of the sea and Mt Etna. There are lots of activities available and it's only a short walk to Brucoli, which is a charming town.
