Absolutely lovely. We were warmly welcomed by the hosts Lorenzo and Daniella. The apartment was super clean, with one of our favorite views from the balcony. They have a big garden where you can relax and have some very nice wine. This is a very special place. Highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back.

Everything. Lorenzo and Daniela our hosts are the most friendly and helpful people with a lot of local knowledge and the love of arts and anything renaissance related. The apartment was magnificent, stacked with art, books, games. The view from the garden was wonderful, Tuscany at its best. San Gusme is a magical place, why would you stay anywhere else?

We loved our stay at Borgo San Gusme and missed it as soon as we reluctantly departed.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said. This was a unique look into living like a local in San Gusme. Lorenzo and his lovely wife Daniela were the most welcoming hosts. The apartment is perfection, with all amenities of a five star hotel. This is the only apartment in Italy I have ever stayed at with a dryer in addition to a washing machine. There is a very good restaurant in this small town of fifty as well as many Michelin rated restaurants nearby. Lorenzo is available with recommendations and shares his private parking and use of his beautiful garden with guests. The bed and linens are very comfortable, the view the best we have seen in all of Tuscany and the warmth of the hosts was the very highlight of our trip. We left knowing we had a most wonderful and unique two days in this beautiful small village with Lorenzo as our resident artist, sculptor, chef, gardener, and Renaissance man of the 21st century. An experience we will not soon forget.

We would have liked more than one electrical portable hot plate as a cooking facility.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a warm Tuscan welcome. Lorenzo and Daniela were so lovely and accommodating. The apartment was lovely. Spacious, clean and very homely with magnificent views of the Chianti countryside. The old village was beautifully restored with only approximately 50 residents. With easy access to Siena and Florence we can highly recommend Borgo San Guzme as a perfect base for a Tuscan holiday.

My family have travelled around the world, however, our experience at Borgo San Gusme with a wonderful host Lorenzo and his wife Daniela, were sensational. You will hardly find other hosts like them, and staying at their lovely house was a lifetime experience. Therefore, my review will be somehow different to a standard one. From the moment we entered Lorenzo’s apartment we got a unique feeling of transferring into a genuinely historical Tuscan house, with a beautiful design and artistic sense of Lorenzo, coupled with the outstanding interior decorations and attention to every single detail, including furniture, books, paintings, souvenirs and the likes. We were thrilled to see so much passion and love that was put into making this place so beautiful and delightful. It is hard to describe in words all great qualities of this accommodation, although in short the apartment was very cozy and spacious, super clean, which made us feel extremely comfortable throughout the entire stay. The photos on booking.com depict exactly how everything looks like. We truly felt like living in a real Tuscan house. This place is great to relax, indulge into the Tuscan atmosphere, admire beautiful views of the surrounding area with picturesque hills and vineyards, but also to explore historical landmarks, e.g. nearby Florence. Lorenzo is not just a host, he is a soul mate, an inspiring story teller, who captivates with his knowledge of the rich history and culture of San Gusme, Tuscany and Italy. Lorenzo is a travel expert, being able to share valuable tips about tourist attractions, how to get around, what to admire, and recommend restaurants with genuine local food. We appreciate it all, including our common dinner in San Gusme with a life music :)! Lorenzo and Daniela, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for your warm hearts and generosity. EVERYTHING! The kitchenette was a little small for self catering but Lorenzo provided everything he could to make preparation of our meals doable.

Staying here has been the highlight of our Northern Italian trip. San Gusme was a delightful, charming little village to base ourselves to explore Tuscany. We could walk down to the nearby restaurants in less than 5 minutes.The views from our apartment windows were classic Tuscan landscapes. We also had the use of a small shared terrace with lovely views. Our apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean, authentically decorated with some delightful artwork. The quietness of the village meant we could have a good night's sleep. Our host, Lorenzo, was extremely helpful and kind with good communication before and during our stay. He even helped us with our heavy luggage up the steps to our apartment and when we left.

This is just the best place ever!!

We liked EVERYTHING about this property and the lovely hosts Lorenzo and Daniela. They were superb characters and made our stay in their lovely apartment so much fun. We stayed in the private, 2-bedroom apartment and the space was fantastic: 2 lovely double bedrooms with very comfortable beds; 2 very clean and spacious shower rooms with great water pressure; a fully stocked amazing kitchen and dining space and a lovely balcony with spectacular views, overlooking the roofs of the old medieval town and the beautiful countryside beyond. The beautifully restored apartment was so quirky, with Lorenzo being a relentless collector of all things interesting and beautiful. Lorenzo and Daniela are the best kind of hosts. They have mastered that fine art of being available, attentive, fun and just ever-so-slightly bonkers, without getting in the way of your holiday or be overbearing (which sometimes happens in holiday destinations). He even gave us a tour of his very interesting wine cellar and a very special wine tasting. We stayed here for the last 4 nights of our 2 week holiday and enjoyed EVERY minute, whether we decided to have a relaxing moment on the balcony or if we went to one of Lorenzo's recommended wine tasting or tourist sports, it was just perfect!! If I rated the apartment alone I would have given it a perfect 10/10 but with Lorenzo and Daniela's superb style of hospitality, it is a shame that there is no such thing as 15/10. Thank you so much for the extra touch - English tea and milk in the apartment. First apartment in our trip that thought of providing this :-)

What is there not to love about Borgo San Gusme? Lorenzo and Daniela are the perfect hosts, the village is so set in the Tuscan way of life that you feel like you've been there for as long as Lorenzo has. The apartment is lacking for nothing. You can either eat out at one of the three restaurants in the village or stock up yourselves and have some antipasto on the terrace. It's just perfection!

Excellent comfort. Very big & clean apartment with unforgettable surroundings - fabulous sunrise. Very convenient place to stay while visiting Siena, Florence, Pienza, Montepulciano, etc. Daniela & Lorenzo are the very welcoming host with great hospitality. We are looking forward to coming back next fall. PS: There are 3 restaurants in the village for you to choose from, but we tested only one - Ristorante Da Filetto & enjoyed it a lot.

Everything. The apartment was the exquisitely decorated and provided every comfort; and it had what must be the best view in Toscana! The hosts Lorenzo and Daniela were so warm and gracious, they went above and beyond to make me feel at home. A definite highlight of my trip to Italy, and I will never forget it! Perfetto!
