Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt is nothing you can control, but it would have been nice if some of the other guests were more friendly. No one talks to one another!
It was exactly how we imagined it would be. We’d never been to Tuscany or Italy and it was like a dream for us.

AustraliaI booked this last minute and I was only there for one night, and the biggest disappointment I have with this place is that I didn't stay longer, The room felt like your own personal property in the Tuscany land of Italy. The staff were super lovely and helpful. The grounds of the venue were gorgeous and is definitely a place were you want to stay a minimum of 3 nights

DenmarkMaybe not a place for kids.. Unfortunately some kids were playing around in the pool making a lot of noise, which was quite annoying as the calm and relaxing feeling disappeared completely. The pool area was filled quite fast and people were reserving sun beds with their towels early in the morning. The restaurant for lunch is a bit expensive, however very nice food.
Wow, this place is BEAUTIFUL. We loved the calm feeling around the place and the quiet music playing around the property. Would call it a luxury agriturismo. The pool and the pool area was outstanding! The restaurant of the place; AL 588 is also worth a try. And do not forget to watch the evening light when the sun sets down in the landscape of Tuscany, wow! A tip could be to have a car so that you have the possibility to check out the area nearby, as the place only have 1 restaurant 😊

SpainWe would recommend an extensive lunch menu. Nice quality, but maybe much more variety would be better.
We have had an excellent experience during 5 days. We have enjoyed 5 brilliant days with a 8-months-old baby. Attentive, professional and familiar staff helping and providing all necessary to be comfortable and relaxed in every moment. Highly recommended 588 restaurant (wine menu, oil quality).

RomaniaThe breakfast was an absolute disappointment! very small assortment, kind of supermarket products and an omelette which was permanently dry. 6 days we eate the sane 2 types of salami & cheese. No fresh vegetables. i mentioned this aspect because i truly hope the owners will solve it. it is so nice to have nice breakfast!:)
The location and the way it is maintained is very good. Also, we appreciated the cleanness. The music on the terrace and around the pool is exactly what it is needed to relax and enjoy the olive trees around. .

AustraliaThe hotel and gardens are just beautiful, even in winter - it’s a lovely spot to get out of Florence, get some fresh air, and see the beautiful Tuscan hills. I made several changes to my booking, and the staff we so kind and generous about it (thank you Francesca!). The restaurant (al 588) was a highlight. Absolutely some of the best food I’ve had in Tuscany - making the most of the local and seasonal produce - and in a relaxed and warm setting. I’m looking forward to coming back!

GermanyThe music in the pool area was sometimes too loud, you couldn’t read a book or talk to each other. The fist morning at the breakfast menu we were a little bit confused, because we didn’t know what to do, where to sit and how the breakfast will be served due to Covid. But after the fist day it was all fine. An introductions on the first day of the breakfast would be helpful, we also saw other guests struggeling on the first steps.
The whole atmosphere is wonderful, nice area to relax and enjoy the time by the pool. Our room was small, but excellent. The shower was just fantastic and the room was just perfectly arranged.

RomaniaThe highways is nearby and so you will not get the quiet that some might want in Tuscany but that was ok for us given the price of the rooms and short-term availability. However, the restaurant for us was a terrible experience that actually ruined that leg of the vacation for us which is why the overall score I give is disappointing. The first night we had dinner and that was expensive but good so we returned for lunch and dinner again. For lunch the menu was very imited with 2 sandwiches and one pasta available. We had all three and paid 68 euros. The ham and cheese sandwich was a small dry toast that honestly any respectable italian place would not even sell and it was over 10 euros. The duck club was a small dry toast with minimal ingredients and it came with uncooked fries at 20 euros. The pasta was the wprst I had in italy, and actually pretty much the worst anywhere and it was 20 euros. Coffee was 4.5. Paying 68 euros for the worst meal in the last few years reallly ruined our day because we felt cheated as customers. But we said ok let's move on. So we returned for dinner knowing that the previous dinner had been ok. This time the menu was completely different with a few pizzas and 3 other courses. I had the worst pizza in italy for 16 euros and my girlfriend had a steak for 26 that was all fat. We returned the steak that was offensively bad and they brought one sausage and explained that we will not be charged for that sausage. Hilarious and outrageous. That came also at 68 euros. By comparison, we had the equivalent best meals of our lives in Florence where rent is more expesnisve for 40 euros. The place being far from other restaurant also incentives you to eat there which is the only reason we had dinner as well because it was raining and we didn't want to go all the way to florence to eat.
The accomodation per se is very good value for money. The room is very large and clean, well maintained with great ammenities like tvs and netflix. The overall vibe of the place is nice and staff were friendy.

PolandAccess to room in is difficult, guests are directed to parcheggio 100m + away from entrance, had to leave most luggage in car … Anything but Tuscan tranquility … A1 highway distant noise is overwhelming and music being played in giardino is not helping. Breakfast is minimalistic unless tomatoes are finished and not served the next day …
This Borgo is nice architecture, rooms are ok.

United StatesBreakfast was very nice, with a good variety of choices. The restaurant was a big disappointment. Weird "gourmet" menu. The isolated location of the borgo forces guests to be captive. Aperitifs were over priced. Bar staff music selection was offensive Rap on one evening.

BelgiumAs soon as we arrive, there was not a clear indication of where to go, so we decided to go to the parking space and we have to take all our luggage from the parking space to the reception and after that going to our bedroom, we took all of our luggage again and only at the end the person from the Hotel offered me to carry something. That was not something for a place like this. In the Pool, the ambient music that after one hour sounds like an elevator music because it is instrumental music but not the actual songs or anything else. And the volume and the main reason of it is to hide the sound of trucks in the highway nearby, that still you can hear. The view from the hotel is not to the whole valley because the surroundings view is blocked, so the amazing Tuscany views are out.. And lastly, the air conditioning in the room was not much cool, I talked with reception about it because the temperature in the outside shared spaces where a lot colder than the room, and the answer was "it´s strange" .. that's it. So, I won´t consider going again.
The place was nice, the food was good, some of the staff was very nice.

United KingdomRooms were extremely hot and air condition was not sufficient but the hotel staff did get fans to help. One member of the bar staff was very unwelcoming and not overly friendly, at times quite rude. Could also do with a fitness studio for guests to use.
The pictures don’t do the hotel justice. The views are incredible! Food was great too.
