Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United KingdomAs a huge coffee lover, I missed a decent Italian morning coffee, but you can easily get it in the city where you spend most of your time. My family did not complain though.
Excellent location. Very polite and friendly staff. "Monica clean" room as well as common rooms. Great breakfast and nice dining area. I am happy with my stay at Hotel Bolivar and am sure I have a safe choice of accommodation for my next visit in Rome.

United KingdomThe only negative the hotel did not have heating on as normally warmer this time of year in Rome. This meant it was very cold in the room especially after a shower. We were given extra blankets by the lovely Elena to keep us warm at night.
Very clean. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Easy to walk to the the Trevi fountain and the colosseum. Lovely restaurants and coffee shops nearby.

TurkeyThe room and the bath was a little bit narrow, beds are comfortable but a little bit noisy. Also the room was cold during our stay when the outside temperature is 20/10 C°. They are giving a blanket (and thankfully they gave an extra one to us) which keeps you warm, but the room was still cold. And, it is sad to see there is no complimentary water and a kettle to make a tea/coffee. It wasn't on the room facilities so I can't blame anybody but it would be a very good thing.
All sthe staff are very helpful and they all wearing a smile which is increasing your mood during your stay. Breakfast was good for me. The room has a good view over the ancient Rome and there are very various foods for breakfast. We can catch the mozarella just one day, though. The location is extremely good, you can easily access all of the tourist points by walking easily. We even walked to Vatican which tooks 30min. Collosseum is 15min slow-walking distance.

The location could not be improved. Everything you could wish to see in Rome is within walking distance. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and neat. The hotel is quiet - remarkably so, given it’s central location. The breakfast is nothing special, but that is normal in Italy. The coffee and pastries are good - because for an Italian that is what counts. If you want an egg white omelette with non gluten toast you really are in the wrong country.

PhilippinesPillows are really flat. They can give you a stiff neck. Walls are really thin. The lighting hurts the eyes. You can hear normal volume discussions in the next room or whatever else your neighbor is doing (I heard one scolding his daughter, and another one who seems to be having 'fun'). Doors don't have an extra lock. You get a card as a pass key, but that's it... Instead of the staff at the breakfast area informing guests and late comers that they are about to close the breakfast buffet, they start dragging chairs and cleaning up tables as LOUDLY and rudely as they could. I understand that when time is up, the time IS up and they need to clean up. But there are better ways to make hotel guests look at their watch or to be reminded of the time than to act like you're throwing a tantrum... It makes me wonder if anybody has complained about this before or if they just took that as normal staff behavior.
The location is accessible and is walking distance from shops, restaurants, and churches. It's also away from the main road, so you don't directly hear the honking of vehicles or directly inhale the pollution from the traffic. Spacious bathroom with a heat radiator. The front desk staff are very helpful. Peter really took the time to give advice for the first time tourists of the city, and his recommendations were really helpful!

United StatesBeing that it's an older building the walls were a little thin. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs. I was able to fall asleep and stay asleep until morning. Most of the other guests were respectful and quiet. I would stay here again.
I really enjoyed the location and cleanliness of the hotel. The staff were all exceptionally nice and went out of their way to make us comfortable. It was less than a 10 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain and there was a water fountain right there where we were able to refill our water bottles.

The breakfast area was reeked of cigarette smoke during our first breakfast session of our three nights stay but we do not experience the smoke smell during the subsequent two breakfast sessions.
