Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis place is a little gem! Run by Luigi and Maria, nothing was too much trouble for them. Luigi spent many years in the hotel industry and it showed in the small touches which set this place apart from the rest. For example, Maria often provided refreshments by the pool in the afternoon such as an ice cream or a melon infused with a local spirit. The breakfasts were of a very high standard and plentiful!! The apartment was immaculate and spacious with a lovely terrace. The pool area was very clean and well maintained. All around the property Luigi had made an effort with touches like soft lighting at night and hats dotted around the place. It is clear that he treats every guest as a VIP! The location is a little inland so you would need your own transport (hire car) but a short drive will see you at the coast or inland for some lovely hilltop towns. All in all - a wonderful stay with wonderful hosts. Very highly recommended.

This B&B was a great spot to enjoy the warmth of Puglia while relaxing next to a perfect pool. The real highlight of B&B Mirella is Luigi and Maria - Luigi is an award winning maitre’d an Maria is the perfect host. We felt like part of the family!

United StatesIt was all great.
Luigi and his wife were wonderful! Friendly and helpful! The trulli room Ulivo was so beautiful, clean and comfortable. I did not want to leave. The breakfast was the best that we have had anywhere in our three week journey in Italy. We did not swim but the pool and patio areas were lovely and sparkling clean with various lounge chairs and hammocks. The room was quiet with the window nearest the road closed. The parking was on site and secure. The 12 minute drive to the trulli zone in Alberobello was beautiful. It was a 15 minute easy drive to great swimming in Monopoli.

IrelandThe mattress was a bit old or maybe simply not for me. We slept well so this is merely a minor note. Nothing of consequence .
Top of the list is Maria and Luigi. They're incredibly sweet, took time to chat to all their guests, give recommendations, or simply make the stay even more homely than it already felt. They're kindness completes the beautiful setting they have made at b&b mirella. Their property is stunning in the day and night. It is tranquil and a very relaxing place to stay. I'd have happily stayed longer but they were sold out of rooms!

B & B Mirella is situated on a hill outside the beautiful town of Alberobello. A car is essential if staying here. The town centre can be reached in just a few minutes. Maria and Luigi are the perfect hosts, very friendly & knowledgeable, always on hand to give information about the area and its many wonderful places to visit. We stayed in a self contained two bedroom villa (Lady Mary) which is situated in its own private area of the property with lovely views across the Puglian countryside. Plenty of room for two couples inside and a lovely seating are outside. The villa is equipped with everything you could need for your stay (although we did not use the cooking facilities as there are so many superb places to eat close by) and was spotlessly clean from end to end. The breakfast was fantastic with a selection of local meats, cheeses, delicious pastries, home made jam & marmalade & fresh fruit all served with love and enthusiasm by Maria & Luigi in the breakfast room. The pool area is a very welcome retreat at the end of a days sightseeing, each room being allocated loungers & towels around the pool. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Alberobello region. Many thanks Maria & Luigi.

SwitzerlandI am a bit complicated about mattresses, it was a bit too soft for me but I slept well after the first night ;-)
It was pure relaxation. The B&B is located on a street, but since the trullo was cool, we always had the window closed at night, so it was quiet. It has everything in the trullo, from a large fridge to a kettle with tea selection to a Nespresso machine with coffee capsule and 2 bottles of water. The 5 units are secured by the large entrance gate so that the car can be parked without any problems. Each unit has a name and so do the sun loungers with umbrella, PP and clothes horse. Everything is well organised. A pool provides cooling and pleasant relaxation after a day's trip. The breakfast (no self-service) is served in a room, which is very pleasant in the heat and does not attract insects. Maria and Luigi are very concerned about the well-being of their guests and take great care of them.
