Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TurkeyNothing.
We greeted by the kind gentleman Vincenzo when we were cheked-in he offered us cold water with ginger and lemon which was amazing. Even though breakfast wasn't included, hotel is kind enough to serve coffee at the morning. You can reach to hotel with 5 minutes of walking from the Santa Maria del Fiore. We were amazed by the location. I'll not look for an hotel in Florence ever again. I'll look for the available dates for the Hotel Bavaria.

Francethere was no AC ( which is totally understanable considering that the building is ancient with 4-5 m high ceilings, so putting ac in such environment would be a waste, but even though we had fans it was slightly hot
I felt like we spend the night at the castle, everything was ancient and that was very special experience, but what i loved the most was the fact that the bathroom was fully new, very clean and convenient!

It was beautiful- the hotel, the room, and located in the heart of Florence. The hotel was peaceful and quiet even though in the heart of the city. The room had a beautifully fitting feel. Very special if you want to absorb yourself in the artistic culture of the place. Bathroom spacious with fantastic shower! The hotel also has an arrangement with a parking garage so you can park in the city close to the hotel and you get a reduced price if staying at the hotel.

SpainThe stairs, but that is to be expected in old villas like this. It would have also been nice to have a fridge but being so close to everything, you can grab a drink easily enough.
The location is perfect. Just a few steps to everything. The staff is lovely and helpful too and the room was huge. There are also many restaurants and cafes close.

AustraliaGood for the price!
This place has a lot of history and was refurbished by the Medici family. So we were in awe of its 500 year old presence. It was quite central to everything so we walked to all places.

United StatesA lot of stairs and no AC, like many old buildings in Europe so maybe for handicap or older people it’s not suitable.
I liked everything in this hotel you feel like the 15th century, the building, ceilings, paintings, so nice ! I will go back for sure

United StatesThe room was smaller than expected, but it was adequate. After all, it's so centrally located that I can imagine what other such close places to stay will cost. It was listed with a shared bathroom, but that bathroom near my room was absolutely tiny and someone had been a slob and splashed water everywhere from the shower making a mess and making it difficult to use that shared bathroom. I also had to go out at midnight to the hall and ask neighbors to stop talking in the hall, and the halls are odd-shaped and sloping (watch your step). There isn't a breakfast provided, though I thought I read there was going to be one, but there is a cappuccino machine that was adequate. The bigger shower and bathroom is farther away, but it's the better one to use. The whole place is up 2 flights of stairs and the front door is hard to figure out when arriving, both a surprise to me. So there are some interesting details to this place, but it is in the heart of Florence, in a really classic historical building, so I'll treat the idiosyncracies as features rather than faults. Like I said, the man is a gem and erases most of my complaints because of his kindness.
The man who runs it is the main big benefit - he is a gem, and for that I will forgive all lesser details. He was so kind and gave me great suggestions for shopping and seeing the city. The location is OUTSTANDING, a rural neighborhood only 2 blocks from the Duomo and incredibly easy to walk anywhere. I'd stay again because the man is so nice, despite the other details.

TaiwanIt was five stories high so be prepared to climb a lot of stairs. The entire level only have one bathroom (one toilet) to share so it can be inconvenient sometimes if you are in a hurry to use the toilet or to shower. It is in the centre so noises from the street gets very loud even up to midnight.
Location is great, right in the city center very close to the duomo. Room feels very clean and the staffs are friendly. The shared bathroom is also very clean and comfortable to use. The building itself has the Medici family crest and old fresco of Cosimo the elder as a turtle with a sail, you can feel the history of Florence right in this building.

United KingdomThe only things that I didn’t like were: whilst the room was a fine temperature with just a fan, the ceiling fan was very noisy so we couldn’t sleep with it on. Also whilst we didn’t mind the shared bathroom, there were quite a few rooms using it so you had to wait a while to use it. Also, whilst this was fine for us, there were a lot of stairs so not very accessible for those who struggle with stairs/mobility.
The hotel decor and architecture was amazing. The room was a great size and not too warm despite no air con. The foyer area and bathroom were beautiful too. Location was great and everything was very easy. Would love to come back to Florence and would stay here again in a heart beat.

United KingdomOur room had a window facing the other side of the building, like a small courtyard, so it was always dark. We had to close the curtains due to the closeness of the other building, which caused us to turn the light on even during the day. The photos of the double room with a shared bathroom on the webpage belong to the other rooms with more sunlight, which was surprising. The kettle wasn't in the room, and it was downstairs, so it wasn't practical. We didn't experience any issues with the shared bathroom situation except for some disrespectful guests who left the bathroom in an indecent condition. There wasn't any outside noise during our stay; however, we experienced noise and disturbance in the early mornings coming from the premises. Contrary to the friendly housekeepers, the host was a bit uncaring during the stay, particularly at the check-out.
Great location, decent cleanliness, spacious rooms, friendly housekeepers
