Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

BrazilFor travelers with luggage, the hotel is very inadequate. The rooms are located up three flights of stairs, and there are no elevators available. Additionally, there is no assistance provided for carrying luggage.
The hotel is very well located, with walk access to the most important tourist attractions. The room was small, with not much space for a couple traveling with suitcases. I didn't use the breakfast because it had to be booked in advance, and I wasn't sure whether to have it at the hotel or if I would prefer to go to a cafe.

JapanAs is often common with Florence accommodation, there is no lift. But if you have trouble getting your luggage to your room, I am sure the friendly staff will help you.
It seemed to be a family-run hotel. It is not a gorgeous hotel, but it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. You had to bring a nightwear if you need. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. It is close to the train station of Santa Maria Novella, so it is not too difficult to get to the hotel even with luggage. Of course, it is also convenient for sightseeing.

United StatesThe room itself had thin walls so you can hear your neighbors talking. On a more busier street in the city so can hear noises late at night. There were also some bugs in the room.
Great staff, very friendly, and explained things very well. Excellent location that is a short walk from the train station as well as within walking distance for the Duomo and other places. There's also a great gelato place very close to the hotel.

United KingdomMinor point ...I love sitting outside, and I booked here because of the terrace, which I did use a few times for having breakfast or a glass of wine. But it was always closed / locked, so I had to open up myself and close up after myself, which was a bit of a faff. The terrace is a lovely feature, not sure why more people did not use it!

Location was fabulous: half way between the Duomo and Santa Maria Novella Basilica, and 10 minutes from the Unita tram stop from the airport. Short, interesting 15 minute walk south to the Arno, Ponte Vecchio, and Uffizi Gallery. Couldn't as for much better. The was not large but I never intended my room to be a destination. I was there to experience Florence, not a hotel room. Given that, my expectations and needs were met. A great breakfast was offered but, since I started my days early, I chose to have breakfast at a variety of places close to sites I was visiting. The staff, including Daniela and Guido, were always there, friendly, and helpful.
