Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

HungaryThe parking-related information, provided by booking.com, is misleading. It is not possible to parking at or close to the B&B for checking in and out. One can find parking places only several hundred meters away. The garage, mentioned by the host, remained a hypothetical option, because we didn't get the details in terms of its location, fees, and service conditions... Unfortunately, the 'price' of the nice view from our room was the loud noise, caused by the heavy traffic. Self-served breakfast meant factory-wrapped, durable food, instead of fresh pastries.
The B&B is in a completely renovated old building in the historical quarter of the city. Its modern interior is very well designed, fascinating. We had a nice view of the waterfront area from our large room.

HungaryRoof terrace is only for events, not for guests, despite it is on one of the main pics. This was disappointing. Room on level 'half' is too close to the road, which has very high traffic + people can see you in the room. Luckily we could change to an upper level room. Breakfast was OK, but it was like at home: milk, bread, ham, cheese, etc. stored in a fridge. Rather strange. A half cake was on a plate, but as we were the only guests in the hotel, we wonder where and when the other half had gone... A fresh croissant and a glass of fresh lemon juice would be nicer than long shelf life stuff. Room (bathroom, furniture) would need some maintenance. We have found it way overpriced for off-season, mid-week stay, without the luxurious roof terrace.
It is fantastic to have a view on the sea. Room is spacious. Bed is comfy. Staff was nice. We could leave our luggage in the hotel after checkout, which was a great help.

PortugalThe view to a decrepit inner alley, when the window was open. The absolute lack of view (due to an opaque glass) when the window was closed. The room was small and the beds were too narrow. The photos are real but I found them deceiptful. No authentic or homemade food at the breakfast, but only supermarket style crostatas and akin.
I guess the location was good, even if we came to find Taranto wasn't the ideal place to go on a sightseeing trip (not the B&B's fault, of course). The staff was nice and helpful.
