Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot an issue for us, but worth noting that the hotel is a significant distance from sorrento and would be incredibly difficult to walk. We managed perfectly fine using the bus service and other guests staying at the same time as us had a car, but definitely worth knowing before you go!
In a beautiful quiet location with a really helpful host, Villa Teresa is a great place to stay if you're looking for somewhere economical on the Amalfi coast. The location was really peaceful and our room was comfy and clean, overall a great experience.

United KingdomThe location is at the top of a hill, so do your research as it is not walking distance to Sorrento and the taxis are very expensive and the busses are unreliable! But the b&b was close to the bus stop, it was just the busses that didn't show up!
Alex was super helpful and friendly, he told us to visit Sant'Agata which we never would have even known about if it wasn't for him and we found some amazing restaurants. The apartment was very clean and very big balcony.

CroatiaAlex is a very kind host, always available and very reliable and informative when it comes to where to eat well and what to see. The room is neat and spacious, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is clean with clean towels and bathroom accessories always available. The breakfast is excellent, with fresh fruits and vegetables, pastries, cheese...and always freshly prepared coffee. The apartment has a beautiful yard and is located in a quiet area that is accessible to the city center in about 15 minutes by bus, whose stop is in the immediate vicinity. If I ever return to Sorrento, Villa Teresa will surely be my first choice again!

AustraliaAs we didn't have a vehicle we caught the local bus, which was a good service. Apparently there is a free shuttle, we didn't see or use. It was a steep driveway to walk up.
The host, Alex, was very attentive and helpful. He gave us tips for travelling around and sightseeing. Breakfast was plentiful and wide variety. Very clean accommodation.

MaltaLocation of the villa is very quite however, you need to rent a car in order to be able to reach the centre of Sorrento. In the morning we walked through pathway where we arrived in Sant Agata. We had a coffee there before traveling to Capri.
The owner was very helpful and gave us valuable tips on restaurants and also on how to reach the Amalfi Coast and Naples.

BrazilWe had to change our schedule as Booking told us we could not arrive after 5pm for the check-in... when we arrived at 5pm sharp, Alex, the owner of the property, said we could had arrived later... and it was not so easy to find the B&B as there was no connection of waze outside the place due to a storm days before our arrival.

United KingdomGiven the location planning journeys is a must because the buses are not that regular. Best to hire a car if you can.
This was a last minute booking but was decent value for money, especially considering the other rates we saw in Sorrento. Alex was very helpful and gave us lots of advice, and puts on a nice breakfast too. The nearby area Sant'Agata is really nice and chilled with great restaurants.

United StatesThe only downside is it is not as close to Sorrento center as I thought. This was my fault when researching the location. We didn't have our own mode of transportation with us, so this made it a little difficult to get to the center of Sorrento.
Alex was a very kind host! The villa is beautiful. Our room had a private porch that was very nice to sit on and enjoy the view. The breakfast spread Alex prepares every morning was great as well.

Firstly, host was informative and welcoming. Gained huge insight into local life and tourist attractions. Always open to questions daily. Accommodation was excellent; very clean, great facilities such as fridge and good size balcony. Premise in the mountain but with a scooter very accessible. Temperatures were cooler compare to Sorrento town. One evening we used the jacuzzi and had a free bottle of white wine produced by the host. Overall, a very positive experience. Would recommend to a friend.
